Nightmare at Le Xaragua hotel

It's shameful to put rooms in this hotel for rent in the current state. There was nothing working! when I entered the room, there was not even electricity! I arrived at the hotel at 5:00 PM, it was very very hot, I asked to turn on the air conditioning, I was told that I had to wait for 1 hour while the generator was turned on! And indeed I had to wait 1 hour for the air conditioning, but unfortunately it was cut around 11:00 PM. There were even cockroaches in the bathroom! The rooms next to mine were completely run down, you could see the doors broken, there was nothing in those rooms. From a security point of view, if I had to give a rating it would be 0!! Because, as my partner and I were the only hotel guests that night, we were really afraid to sleep in this room. To sum up, we should close this hotel, make the repairs it requires before putting rooms up for rent!!

Please I do not recommend this hotel for several reasons. Too many bugs, no real amenities, extra charges for poor service, the swimming pool was green, the beach water was polluted with trash bags and debris. The bugs outside were waiting for us to go in at night and yes they do have roaches. The lights kept flickering at night and the dogs were fighting in the neighborhood, very noisy. It is pricey for the quality. The lady at the front desk was rude. It is an extra $20 if it is a second person and $20 extra if you need to check in early and for no reason because when you come in there is no electricity or warm water. That day it was very hot. It is not worth the price you pay. Throughout your meal there is a cat underneath the table bothering you and that is disgusting and I'm allergic. Just horrible...Please don't stay here...pay the extra $50 or $60 to stay at Decamaron that is down the road, it will be free drinks and food throughout the day.

My family and I spent Easter weekend at Xaragua. It was my first time in this hotel. On the plus side: - The property is very clean (Yard, Lobby, Poolside) - Ample onsite parking - Really friendly staff. - Good sized pool. - Spacious rooms with a great view of the ocean - Recently renovated bathrooms - Comfortable beds. Cons: - The A/C in our room did not work because the hotel generator was out of service. Although the room has a fan, it was still warm at night and this made sleep difficult. - We had dinner on our first night there and the restaurant food needs a serious upgrade. We didn't order anything fancy but what was served disappointing: very dry chicken, overcooked conch and powdered lemonade when we wanted freshly squeezed juice. The fried plantains were the highlight of our plate. In the morning, the scrambled eggs from the free breakfast were cold (served on a regular serving platter with no heating source to keep them warm). - The shore on the beach was littered with debris and looked like it had not been in use by hotel guests for some time. No chairs or sitting area by the beach. Overall: Le Xaragua is a property with great potential, but right now falls short of what it can be. Recent socio-political events have undoubtedly impacted their day-to-day activities and this maybe explains some of the setbacks I experienced during my stay. I will give them another chance in hopes that they will have had a chance to improve their failings in the near future.

I liked the view from the property of the ocean and the room was nice. The staff are especially nice, despite the language barrier. I would have liked better cleaning services during my stay and to be informed of exceptions in advance.

Bad, I left after the first night. They promised continental breakfast between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, I checked out at 8:00 AM, breakfast still wasn’t ready. I only had a cup of coffee.

The potential is there too bad they don't use it

I arrived late in the afternoon. When I arrived they had a paper waiting for me to tell me I didn't pay. I booked through Expedia so of course I had paid. They said no they didn't get the money. I even showed them my credit card statement and Expedia confirmation that showed I paid. None of the staff speak English, fortunately I was with a native Haitian who can speak English and kreyol. They were translating for me. They said yes we see that you laid but we didn't get the money. They wouldn't let us go to our room because we hadn't paid per them and even though Expedia asked them to let us do so they refused. The managers solution to the problem was that I pay the money again and then get the money back from Expedia. After two hours and agreement to pay them the money at the end of our stay again. The room was terrible. It looked like they had started renovations in the bedroom but the bathroom had to be thirty years old. It was dirty and falling apart. We went to the restaurant which is expensive and we were served over cooked and what seemed to be yesterday's meal. Breakfast is included and I dreaded going to breakfast for fear of what they would serve us. We decided to cut our stay short after getting the refund from Expedia. When I tried to pay with my credit card it was declined. Turns out they are not set up to receive Expedia money or international cards for that matter. We had to take one of the employees back to port au prince with us to take out the cash to pay the

I was 2 Days with my Family

Sorry People ...i was with the Children but was not good,in the Room No TV, no Freaser , the Balkon not Safe..and Wifi not Strong, there are not Ready For Turist... but the Breakfast was good.
