Beach Odyssey

Beautifully remodeled unit in lovely Camp Ellis. Take your sunscreen and a beach chair on a 60 second walk to a secluded beach at the end of the Ave. A great place to entertain a few guests, with the added accommodation of a sleeper sofa. This one bedroom unit is on the first floor. It includes a large open concept kitchen/living room with a view of the ocean. The unit is outfitted with a flat-screen TV, DVD, and WIFI. A tastefully furnished one bedroom with a queen size bed and nice furniture. Help yourself to the grill and picnic area on the lawn, or enjoy a cold drink on the picnic table outside your door. You will be steps from Saco Bay's 7 miles of sandy beach, or you can walk to the pier to go fishing. There is a kayak rental near by, fishing/ sailing charters, whale watch, and a quaint general store. You can enjoy the quiet ocean life of Camp Ellis or take a short ride down the road to Old Orchard Beach with its amusement rides and festivities. Dogs allowed for an additional fee. Linens are included. A great place to make yours for the week. We look forward to meeting you.

This property was super clean, cozy and literally a 2 minute walk to the ocean. You can see the ocean from the property. Highly recommend.

Cute, beachy rental in a great location

I stayed here for 2 weeks between leases and couldn't have made a better choice. I love Camp Ellis and this was the best location for walking to the beaches, jetty, and fishing pier. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment was very clean. The kitchen had everything that I needed. I live in Portland now, but I may come back some time just to enjoy the Camp Ellis atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful visit, Patrick!

Comfy lil' apartment

Nicely renovated and decorated apartment with everything you need. Just bring your own hand and wash clothes along with a bath Mat. We knew that by ready reviews. The bed is very high but good quality...So if your short 5'1 and under and not agile you need to use the step stool in the closet. Not a big deal.. Highly recommend

Relaxing sea breezes

This property is very close to the water which was what we wanted. The apartment was clean. The kitchen was only ok as the small stove did not work well and most of the dishes and pans needed a good washing. Good excuse to eat out! Towels were limited and no face cloths so bring some with you. Bed was super comfortable and ceiling fans keep the air moving really well. Neighboring restaurant’s patio band gave us great music. Outdoor areas around building need a good clean up.

suggestions for others who stay

Nicely appointed kitchenette, clean and bright space. Recommend you bring dishtowels, washcloths, extra towels and bath mat. Also this unit opens directly onto a side street, not a lot of privacy as you sit "on the deck" on the road.

Misrepresentation

When you enter the apartment you can smell an odor coming from the bathroom. This apartment does not have a Water View, Ocean View, and is not Oceanfront or Waterfront as listed…to get any ocean views you have to walk down the small road with constant traffic of cars. The owner writes about being “steps from Saco Bay’s 7 miles of Sandy Beach”, but fails to mention it’s only accessible at low tide… the beach that you walk to at the end of the road is small and was super Packed! I was unable to Access the beach to walk with my pup, because of the tide. After trying for two days, I decided to leave, 4 days early. (Walking my pup in the neighborhood… a very nice resident informed me that I would need to drive up the road to Ferry Beach to get access when its high tide.) I was very fortunate to find a pet friendly place that was on the beach side where I could walk for miles with my little pup. VRBO has tried to reach the property owner/host for two weeks, but he has not responded. Very expensive lesson learned… if you don’t see pictures that clearly show what is listed….beware..

Perfect spot for a little get away!

We had booked our September getaway in February and had been counting down the days to this vacation since we love Maine so much. The spot was perfect for 2 adults and our dog. Truth be told we picked this spot since it was dog friendly, and they are hard to find near the coast! There are several other units in the building as well and everyone else had their dog(s) with them too, so I know we were not alone. All the neighbors were respectful of noise and shared their tips on what they had been doing in the area as well so we could all make the most of our time there. The unit looked exactly like the pictures and was clean and the kitchen well stocked with what we needed for appliances to get by for the week without eating out for every meal. We look forward to going back again!

Nice little apartment steps from the ocean.

Me, my husband, and two kids stayed the week. It was a small, but perfect vacation for us. The open layout helped it not feel cramped. The house was nicely decorated and clean. The location was excellent. We could walk to the jetty and go fishing or enjoy the views, kayak in the ocean or Saco river, or take the one minute walk to the beach and spend the day. It is right next-door to a seafood restaurant, which was delicious! You can occasionally smell the seafood, or hear them calling out order numbers, but even being from the suburbs, this did not bother us at all! There’s a little picnic table and grill we could use for dinners. Great neighborhood to walk or ride your bike. I would encourage people to bring beach chairs and, lots of extra towels, washcloths, a bath mat, and door mat (to help with sand control). Overall a great find!

Camp Ellis

Such a great experience. The apartment had everything we needed and was close to everywhere we wanted to go. The kitchen was full equipped and we cooked most of our meals. Everyone was so friendly and our host Patrick was the best. We hated leaving and will definitely be back. I highly recommend Patrick’s place at Camp Ellis!

A Special Space in Camp Ellis

The one bedroom apartment was perfect for our family with a pull out sofa. It was sparkly clean and the owner has a decorators touch. The open kitchen area made it a pleasure to cook in and the fridge and freezer are large. Adorable and we felt at home. The owner was quite gracious with timely responses to any questions. W loved playing family games at sunset on the picnic table right outside our door. A lovely treat of a retreat!!!💦

Awesome Little Beach Apt

Location is fabulous for beaching out, can see the water from the front step. Nice size for a couple, and really appreciative that we could bring our older bull terrier along. Furnishings were generally fine, though the tiny bedside tables (8” square, no place for eyeglasses, etc.) were an odd choice. Huots is right next door: we weren’t bothered by the cooking odors but appreciated getting fried clams, scallops, haddock for easy meals. Convenient to OOB attractions, but quiet away from the hustle & bustle.

Love Camp Ellis!

Everything was perfect! The unit was clean and they even supplied the linens! The only thing we wished we had was a microwave. Best week ever!!
