Roy’s Café is in Amboy, a town with 8 inhabitants on the old Route 66. The mayor of the town bought it on e-bay... the café only serves instant coffee!

When traveling through California along Route 66, you can find the defunct Roy's Motel and Café, which used to be a motel, café, gas station and auto repair shop in the Mojave Desert town of Amboy. The location is very convenient if you are visiting the Universal studios. The room was ok, it was smaller than expected, but it was clean and comfortable. I did not liked the virtual desk… it felt like you were on your own in case anything happened… but everything went well.

Fabulous tour of the Mitchell Caverns. Be sure to make a reservation as they only take 15 people per tour. 2 tours a day on Friday-Sunday. Very interesting.
