"The staff are always welcoming from day one. We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and found it a very enjoyable experience. There has been the odd little glitch but rectified right away. The only one problem we found that if you don't want to use your car and want to use the bus service you have to walk into barnsley interchange to go anywhere its a 20 minute walk across a very busy roundabout and road. The rooms are always very clean and tidy but still an excellent place to stay. "

"Although there was scaffolding on the back of the building, there was no noise or evidence of building being done when inside, a credit to the cleaning team. The staff are wonderful from the great welcome on arrival to the next morning’s fabulous breakfast team. Thank you"

"The family room was lovely. Double bed for the adults and two singles for the teens with s sitting area and desk. Included breakfast had lots of variety. Room was clean and quiet. The restaurant had wonderful food with so many different options and portions were huge. No issue finding space in the car park even though they had an event taking place when we arrived. "

"The setting is beautiful and the staff amazing. We took our 2 Spaniels with us and stayed in a dog friendly suite. Room was huge and surprisingly warm considering it was a converted Castle. Breakfast in the morning was decent and you are within 25 mins of York. All in all a great trip and we will 100% stay here again. "
