Let yourself be charmed by this duplex apartment, nestled just 2 minutes from the station and a few steps from the historic centre (7 minutes on foot). On the second floor of a secure, quiet and peaceful three-storey building dating from the late 1800s. Madame Capitaine is an accommodation designed as an urban cottage combining authenticity and comfort. This unique place pays tribute to the history of Rouen with its exposed beams, period half-timbering and marble fireplace. The space was completely renovated in 2024 and designed with high-quality materials and products. Every detail has been carefully selected to offer you a unique experience: vintage furniture, works of art, queen-size bedding and a pleasant shower for a timeless break. Fully equipped, this cosy apartment is the ideal place for a romantic getaway or an immersive stay in the Norman capital.

On the ground floor, this accommodation has a spacious and comfortable, beautifully decorated living room that can accommodate four people, with a marble fireplace (decorative), a comfortable sofa bed and documentation. The fully fitted and equipped kitchen (Nespresso coffee machine, oven, hob, toaster, kettle, etc.) will allow you to prepare delicious meals, just like at home. On the ground floor there is also a bathroom with a large, fully tiled walk-in shower with a powerful and luxurious rain shower head. A hairdryer and shower gel are provided, as well as storage space. Next to the bathroom is a large cupboard concealing a washing machine (as well as an iron and ironing board and a clothes rack) with a space for drying laundry just opposite. The apartment is also located next to a laundrette, in case you are in a hurry to dry your clothes.

Upstairs, in the bright and comfortable blue bedroom, there is a queen-size bed with a comfortable mattress from the French brand Kipli, a king-size duvet (perfect for couples), bedside tables on either side of the bed with reading lamps and a large wardrobe with ample storage space for clothes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the apartment.

Bed linen and household linen are provided in the accommodation for your comfort.
No private parking is available with the accommodation. However, you can park your vehicle in the streets surrounding the accommodation according to the city's current parking rates. The accommodation is managed by the ArchiDuchesse concierge service, which can be reached 7 days a week from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 14:00 to 21:00. We thank you for taking care of the accommodation and for respecting the premises and the neighbourhood. To this end, you will be asked to provide a bank imprint via a secure link in order to finalise your reservation and obtain the access codes to the accommodation.

Victor's father is from Normandy and the first time we visited Rouen, we fell in love with the city's historic charm, architecture and culinary culture (we eat well on every visit and are always trying new restaurants), so we decided to buy an apartment to create a beautiful pied-à-terre that we could use ourselves and share with our friends, family and guests.

Madame Capitaine is named after Victor's grandmother - that was her nickname - and is inspired by the maritime history of the Norman capital. ## Neighbourhood

Ideally located for a stay to discover Rouen, Madame Capitaine is a stone's throw from Rouen train station (1 hour and 15 minutes from Paris Saint-Lazare and 1 hour and 40 minutes by car) and a 7-minute walk from the city centre.


Inside the station is an Intermarché, open every day except Sunday, where you can buy what you need for cooking, as well as a few bakeries, where you can buy freshly baked pastries, sandwiches and coffee. There is also a large Monoprix, a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Rouen, which is also open on Sundays.

There is no private car park available on site, however, you can park your vehicle in the streets near the accommodation according to the parking rates in force in the city and in the parking spaces just below the apartment for free on Sundays, public holidays and at night. There is also a large car park next to the train station, a 30-second walk from the apartment.

The area around the station is just a few minutes' walk from the historic city centre. As you make your way down to the old town, you can quickly reach iconic sites such as Rouen Cathedral, the Gros-Horloge and the Place du Vieux-Marché. The central location of the neighbourhood makes it an ideal starting point for exploring the city.

## Transit

Rue Champs des Oiseaux in Rouen is well served by public transport, making it easy to get to the city centre and other parts of the city. Here is an overview of the available options:

Access to the city centre:
Thanks to the buses and the TEOR network, the centre of Rouen can be reached in about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the line used. This means you can reach iconic places such as Rouen Cathedral, the Place du Vieux-Marché and the Rue du Gros-Horloge without having to use a car.

TEOR (Transport Est-Ouest Rouennais):
The TEOR network, line T4, is also accessible from the area around Rue Champs des Oiseaux. This fast and efficient network consists of several lines that cross Rouen from east to west, connecting key neighbourhoods. TEOR buses have reserved lanes, which reduces travel time, even in heavy traffic.

Vélib' and soft mobility:
Rouen also has a self-service bicycle network, Cy'clic, which can be a good way to get around. Stations can be found nearby, facilitating short trips or city strolls. In addition, there are cycle paths in certain areas around Rue Champs des Oiseaux, allowing for safe, gentle mobility.

## Notes

Please note that the building does not have a lift and that the apartment is located on the second floor. People with reduced mobility or those carrying large suitcases may have difficulty accessing the apartment.

Arrivals are self-service for more flexibility. They are from 16:00 and departures must be made by 11:00 at the latest.

Accommodation is managed by the ArchiDuchesse concierge service, available 7 days a week (from 10am to 9pm). In the house, all our guests receive household linen, basic necessities for the first day (shampoo, shower gel, hand gel, toilet paper, etc.) as well as one large towel per person, along with tea towels and a bath mat per bathroom. A welcome kit with kitchen bin bag, bathroom bin bag, sponge and dishwasher liquid is provided on arrival for the duration of your stay.

We are committed to providing a pleasant experience, however, please note that we are not a hotel service. Any cleaning during the stay, fresh linen/towels, restocking of essential items, or delivery can be arranged on request at an additional cost. When renting, it is important to respect a few rules to ensure that everything goes smoothly and to avoid any surprises with the deposit! Remember to take care of the accommodation as if it were your own: avoid causing damage, respect the furniture and leave the premises clean when you leave. Respect the instructions, whether they concern timetables or the use of equipment, and respect the tranquillity of the neighbourhood. And if a small problem arises, don't hesitate to let us know. Please remember that parties are strictly forbidden (€250 will be deducted from the deposit), that the accommodation is completely non-smoking (€50 will be deducted from the deposit), that animals are not allowed (€50 will be deducted from the deposit) unless requested and agreed in advance by us, and that any loss, theft or damage will be invoiced at the real replacement value.
