Cheerful 2-bedroom Chalet with loft and fireplace

Relax with the family at this peaceful Chalet in the Woods!

Located in a quiet, residential subdivision, the Chalet is 2 miles from Higgins and Houghton Lakes. The Au Sable River is also nearby. You’ll find excellent fishing, boating and a livery in town for tubing, kayaking or canoeing. Just 70 miles north, enjoy skiing, water parks, golf and more at hills such as Boyne Mountain.
The space

You’ll enter through the front door and find plenty of closet-space for coats and shoes. A stackable washer/dryer is in the front hall closet and available for your use. As you walk to the Great Room, you’ll pass the 1st floor bath and bedroom. The Great Room combines the kitchen, dining and living rooms.

The kitchen has everything you need to cook and clean up! Toaster, range oven, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, fridge/freezer and land-line telephone. We also have a new Keurig coffee maker for both K-cups and pots of coffee. We supply coffee grounds, filters, K-cups and tea, but feel free to bring your own as well. ☕️

The new dining room table has 4 chairs and a bench for 2 or 3. Enjoy comfortable couches and chairs, and a gorgeous, stone-covered, wood-burning fireplace. Sip a beverage in front of the fireplace while chatting or cooking dinner. If you bring kiddos, it’s a perfect setup to keep an eye on them! There’s some books, puzzles, DVDs, games and toys for kids and adults. Strong WiFi connection.

Dine outdoors on a large Trex deck, just off the Great Room. A large table with 6 chairs and an umbrella, a bistro table with 4 chairs, and 2 lounge chairs. There’s a safety gate for kids and dogs. The deck overlooks beautiful trees and a fire pit- did someone say s’mores? 🍫

Firewood is under the deck and available for your use. Full and kiddie-size trampolines. My family, friends, neighbors and I enjoy morning coffee, listening to the birds and meditation. Perfect place for some yoga, too.

The home has 2 floors with carpeted stairs. Both the 1st and 2nd floor bathrooms have a tub shower. We supply Dove-brand shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap as well as wash cloths, body and hand towels.

Each floor has 1 bedroom. The upstairs also boasts a large loft with a twin and full bed as well as a twin/full combo bunk bed.

The upstairs bedroom has 1 full and 2 twin beds, the downstairs bedroom has 1 full bed. Each bedroom has a dresser and closet for your use, the loft has a dresser.

We have a long driveway and big front yard- plenty of parking. There’s also a swing and hammock in the front.

Furthermore, my family and I compiled a list of things to do and places to go such as golf courses, marinas, beaches and a yoga studio. The list, with addresses included, is in a binder on the dining room table. It’s also in the Airbnb app under House manual.

Lastly, my adult children, Tim and Angie, graciously help with my rental. Should you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact us.
