Located on the first floor of a building with elevator on Via Druso, this elegant 75 m² apartment enjoy a great position, a few steps away from Villa Celimontana Public Park and close to Caracalla’s Baths, the Coliseum, St. John in Lateran’s Basilica and the Ancient Appian Way. It is comprised of a comfortable double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a large living room with sofa bed and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with bath-tub, a bathroom with shower and a delightful 10 m² balcony, ideal to eat in the open air and to sunbathe. Equipment include air conditioning, LCD TV, wi-fi, washing machine, dish-washer, a parking spot inside the private court. The exclusive and well-connected location (Line B Subway Station CIRCO MASSIMO is at 10 minutes on foot) and the possibility to rent it together with the Domus Drusiana First, connecting the two structures, make this apartment perfect for a wonderful vacation in the Eternal City, especially for large groups.

Via Druso 41 is central to Rome, but there are several difficulties with accessing the parking. The gate for getting in does not allow enough room to get your car fully off of this very busy street. We were not provided with a remote for opening the gate, so you have to park in front of the gate, fully blocking the side walk for pedestrians and bicyclists, get out of your car, use a key in a small panel and then as the gate opens get back into your car. Then the parking is extremely difficult and narrow to navigate. To get out of the parking it is another bizarre process - drive to the gate, park, get out, reach through the gate to turn the key lock panel, move quickly out of the way of the opening gate, get back into your car, and then brave moving out into traffic without driveway mirrors to help you see if there are pedestrians, bicyclists, or other e-vehicles on the side walk, before trying to turn out onto this extremely busy street. This VRBO is on a very busy street that is very near a local hospital, so there are ambulances blaring their sirens nearly all night and day, and the two rush hours make it so this street is totally jammed pack with honking cars. The kitchen lacked paper towels, dish soap for hand washing, olive oil and came with absolutely nothing in the frig, not even bottled water, and the main wood cutting board was falling apart. Also, there was no explanation of how to operate the military grade, exterior, roll up metal window coverings.

Great Support and Convenient Location, but Missing Bikes Were a Letdown

We had a pleasant stay overall, thanks to the wonderful support from Lourdana at the holiday apartment rental. She provided us with lots of great restaurant recommendations and was always quick to respond and help out with any questions we had. The apartment was well connected with public transport—numerous bus lines stopped right outside, making it easy to get around.The apartment itself was fine—everything we needed was there. Despite being right on a main road, it was surprisingly quiet. One small thing: we would have appreciated a few more towels.Unfortunately, the bikes that were advertised were not available, as they had apparently been stolen. This was a big disappointment for us, as we had planned several bike trips and didn’t budget for renting bikes ourselves. Because of that, we had to change our plans, and we’re giving one point less for that reason.
