Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin is a roomy 2200 sq ft chalet on Deer Water Lake in the Cliffview Resort area of Red River Gorge, Kentucky. Conveniently located, just minutes from Natural Bridge State Park, RRG Zipline, Gorge Underground, and some of the best hiking trails and rock-climbing routes in the region.

This stunning 3-story A-frame has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 14. Included are 2 primary suites each with a king-size bed and private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Upstairs you will find two more bedrooms that together contain 3 queen-size beds and 2 full-size beds (one lofted) plus a 3rd full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Two half-baths are also included on the first floor and basement making this well-maintained cabin the perfect accommodation for hosting wedding parties, family reunions, or week-end getaways with friends. If your group values comfort and convenience, you cannot do better than KSW Cabin!

Indoor amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, crockpot, blender and all cooking utensils. To add to your convenience, this modern cabin also has powerful high-speed internet, a USB charging station, two ROKU televisions with live streaming channels (YouTubeTV), a stone gas fireplace, a game room with an air hockey table, and a laundry room with a washer & dryer.

Outdoor amenities include a large deck perfect for outdoor dining, a metal-roofed wrap-around porch, gas grill, 6-person hot tub, and a large fire pit. Cornhole boards/bags are also available for your use.

The 5-acre Deer Water Lake sits 50 yards down the hill from the cabin and is walkable by private trail (somewhat steep) or easily drivable. There guests can swim, fish, float or just relax at water’s edge from our spacious private dock. 2 kayaks and paddles are provided, or bring your own canoe, kayak or paddleboard for non-motorized boating. Life vests are not provided so please bring your own.

Unlike many RRG cabins, KSW Cabin is easily accessed via flat paved roads and has a spacious parking area (enough for 9 vehicles). An AWD vehicle is not necessary to access KSW cabin, making it the perfect choice for any season.

SMOKING is not permitted inside Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin but is allowed outdoors on porches and decks.

NO PETS of any type are allowed inside Kentucky Straight Wilderness cabin. Violation of the no pets policy is grounds for immediate eviction.

NOTE: Bed linens, bathmats, hand towels, and kitchen towels are provided. One starter set of bath towels and washcloths is provided for each guest. We recommend that Guests bring their own extra washcloths, bath towels, and beach towels since we have no way of providing extra towels during your stay.

Note: Very secure location. Deer Water Lake is a gated community. Additionally, for your safety, KSW cabin utilizes security cameras covering the exterior entrances of the cabin and the parking area.

The cabin was wonderful - had everything we could need for a weekend stay. It was clean, comfortable, and the views were spectacular. The host was responsive when we had a couple of questions about the cabin and let us check in a little early which was very kind of them to do. We would absolutely stay again in the future!

Great Vacation!

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! Everything was as advertised and perfect for the 10 of us! The walk down to the lake is steep but well maintained and the kids loved the kayaks and swimming in the lake. The area has wonderful hiking and great things to do. If you love the outdoors, you will love it here!

Wonderful cabin!

Kentucky Straight Wilderness was the perfect cabin for us! Our two families of 5 had plenty of space and really enjoyed the location. We were close to many trails and activities like zipline and kayaking. The small lake was a hit and the dock was perfect for swimming and fishing. The trail from the house to the lake was steep, but well maintained. The house itself was fabulous. Lots of deck space and table/chairs. We used the covered portion a lot since it rained off and on during our stay. The game room was used often for air hockey tournaments. It was nice to have a door to close to the basement - the air hockey games could get loud! We made most of our meals at the cabin and it was nice to have a well stocked kitchen. We also never ran out of hot water— a pleasant surprise when you have 10 people needing showers! The only thing that could be improved is the dryer. The washer was great but the dryer took forever (70min) to get things dry.But we all agree we want to come back to this particular cabin - the location, swimming at the small lake, and cabin itself made for a perfect vacation!!

Great place to stay. The property was listed accurately and had so many nice touches that made it feel like home. I.e blankets to cozy up with on the couch, family games to play, and books to read. This was one of our favorite rentals because of the house layout and expansive porch area. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and the kids had no problem swimming off the doc. The incline to the pond was a bit steep for my Mom, but the fact that she could drive down on a nearby road was a plus. Good location with lots of places to eat within a 10-20 min drive. I highly recommend.

Great little getaway

We needed space big enough for 7 adults and this was perfect for us! Great location to the activities we wanted to do, and the BBQ place just around the corner was also amazing! We would definitely book this place again.

Exceptional!

So much about this rental to rave about! From check-in to check-out, the directions and process were thorough and clear. The area felt very safe, and it was the cleanest rental I've ever been in. The place had a very well stocked kitchen (utensils, glasses, silverware, etc). Everything in the rental was in good working order, the beds were even very comfortable. The hot tub, dock/lake, porch swing, air hockey table, multiple televisions, and great view were the icing on the cake. The only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer!

We rent vacation homes all over the world and this was by far the cleanest property we have ever been to! Loved everything this cabin offered to enjoy our stay. “Generational” rain and flooding had us worried about coming to this area but once we were there and saw location we felt very safe and secure. Amazing Cabin Stay

We had a family of 12 stay in the cabin. Everyone was very pleased. Cabin was clean, had enough room for everyone to sleep, there was plenty of bathrooms. Cabin was very fully stocked with kitchen utensils and supplies. Would definitely come back and stay in this cabin. The kids loved the hot tub and air hockey table.

KSW ROCKS

This was our yearly trip to the RRG and Helene did her best to ruin our trip. Getting there on Friday was a chore only to arrive to no power in our cabin. Fortunately, it was back on by 7:30 and the festivities began. Saturday’s hiking was derailed by forest rangers having to close trails due to downed trees, so it was college football, air hockey, and snacks. This morning was a couple of short hikes for us old folks. You can never replace time and memories. Thanks to my children and their children. Also, if you ever need a cabin that can hold 14, check out Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin. Such great people.
