"4 night stay April 2026 (Sunday to Thursday) - accommodation very clean, comfortable and modern, hosts very welcoming - location peaceful (a few sheep and horses over the fence at the bottom of the garden, but no noise) and nice dark skies (I saw a few Lyrid meteors during my stay!). Great kitchen facilities (so you can easily self-cater if you want) and excellent shower, better accommodation than a hotel if visiting the area IMHO. "We had a wonderful stay in the Cart Lodge cottage. Location was perfect - easily accessible from the main yet very quiet and secure with plenty of parking. Cottage had everything we needed - including very comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen (we cooked multiple times) and a cozy sitting room. Best feature: the sheep! Loved watching them from the window and feeding them digestive biscuits in the morning. We would definitely stay again."

"We loved everything about our stay in Mafeking. The house, the garden and Benenden are all beautiful. Mafeking is a great choice for familys, there are plenty of toys and a lovely playground nearby. We extended our stay because we loved it that much and had a very friendly and accommodating experience with the costumer service. "The novelty of staying in a 400 year old property, in an incredible location, right in the middle of Rye, made this the perfect place for a long weekend. Everything needed was right out the front door - museums, castle, pubs, and cafes. The actual house was well laid out with decent furnishings and clean towels, and linens.
