Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the location, only 20 minutes from the trailhead of the famous McAfee Knob and the “Triple Crown” hikes, some of the most scenic in the area. Plus, if you're just passing through, you’ll find easy access, only an 8-9 minute drive off I-81. We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs over the years. This was by far one of the nicest! It was so clean, beds were comfy, host was very responsive. There were little kcups and creamers to go with the Keurig. There were so many little touches throughout that made you say “oh wow that’s so nice” soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes etc. The ping pong table in the basement was so fun. The outdoor area was super nice and cute to unwind. We will definitely be back if we get the chance!

You can tell this is not just an investment property. This is the owners home. They clearly take great pride in this home and thought of every way to accommodate guests. They had coffee, tea, Netflix, dish soap, everything. My daughter’s favorite part was roasting marshmallows in the back yard and running around finding “treasures”. She loved the hammock too! My only issue that we had was that the upstairs bedroom had no door or curtain or anything. So every light and sound carried up there. (You cannot SEE in the room). We thought that room would be perfect for the 4 year old who goes to bed early but it was rough with everyone else awake. It needs at least a curtain to block light. We turned the window fan on to help drown out noise. We would definitely go back!

I'm officially indebted to Emily for including a wireless phone charger in her home---the port on my phone doesn't work and I forgot my charger at home! It was a lifesaver. :) Emily's home was clean, neighborhood was quiet, and she had fully stocked linen closet, kitchen, blankets, remotes working, etc. Everyone was really great. The toys and pingpong were greatly enjoyed by my kids! Our family had a very nice time exploring Roanoke, state parks, and Lynchburg on spring break.

Pros: reasonable rates, comfy sofas, plenty of TVs and Rokus, fluffy/soft towels, convenient location, string lights on patio a nice touch.Cons: in desperate need of blackout blinds (between this and the incredibly loud landscaping the first morning, never did get a decent night’s sleep). Upstairs bedroom was the darkest option (speaking of, the overhead light didn’t work), but one side of the mattress had a sizable depression that made it a no-go for us. Could only get scalding hot water in the shower or icy cold, no middle ground at all (had to opt for cold). Bathroom doorknob repeatedly came off, even trapping me in the bathroom for an extended period of time as I struggled to get the knob back on and the door open. Second stair to basement also seems on verge of breaking, so use with caution. Host did not send instructions on how to access the house (however, she did respond quickly when prompted).

Girls getaway. I cannot say enough about how perfect everything was. The communication, amenities, games!,location. We went to a concert one day then hiked macaffee knob and bottom creek preserve. Downtown has amazing restaurants and cocktail bars. Location was perfect.

Absolutely fantastic. The house is super clean and very cute. The amenities were really well thought out - soft fluffy towels, good sheets and a really well stocked kitchen with everything you could need. Water pressure in the shower is great. One of the best rentals I’ve stayed in. Backyard is super cute too with a great seating area. The neighborhood is good, it’s near a grocery store and the driveway is long if you did need to park multiple cars. For the price especially, I would highly recommend this house.
