Cozy Cottage near the Dan River

Cozy farmhouse on acreage close to Dan River and other recreational opportunities.

The Cottage features 1 King Size Bed, Free WIFI with 2 HD TVS with Roku devices. Blackstone flattop Grill, Stove and offers a single fold out couch in living room. Large comfortable queen size air mattress available for any additional guest. Perfect for couples looking to getaway from it all on 33 acres and with big back deck overlooking granite fire pit. Located 2 minutes from the Dan River Access (New Madison River Park) and nearby to canoeing, kayaking, tubing, hiking trails and the town of Madison and Belews Lake. We are happy to provide a canoe to anyone wanting to use one if requested prior to your stay or we have local outfitters nearby. Nearby is Mayo River State Park and Hanging Rock State Park. Local attractions also include nearby Autumn Creek Vineyards, Belews Lake, Gia Distillery, Hell on Horesecreek Brewery, Yadkin Valley Wine Region, waterfalls at Mayo and Hanging Rock State Park, Mount Airy “Mayberry”, swimming, restaurants and anything for your basic needs. Short 20 minute drive to Greensboro NC and Winston Salem!

Smoking allowed outside of cottage. We we can arrange a private picnic or anything for your romantic getaway or stay just let us know. Firewood provided for fire pit if requested prior. Cornhole boards and bags to play outside. Will consider a pet on a case by case rental but must be notified prior for consideration of a pet.

We are happy to put together a package for visiting the area with gift certificates to local restaurants, brewery, distillery, outfitters for a additional fee depending on what you are looking for and would like to do for your visit to the cottage.

I'm not even sure I can think of anything negative to say about this place, especially considering some of the other places we've rented before. They have nearly everything you could need in the kitchen (except cold condiments LOL but that would be weird maybe...) The location is amazing, especially if you're planning to go tubing down the Dan River. It's great for small kids since there's only 1 floor and no stairs inside. (Listing did say there was kids' toys/playground, but didn't find the toys - and no playground on site - which was fine.) The Blackstone was very handy out back - had local friends over for dinner and cooked out. Our dog LOVED the huge backyard and property, in general. We will definitely be coming back with intentions on staying here again. Very comfy bed. Very attentive hosts! Oh, and they even let us have a late checkout, a MUST with 2 toddlers under 3!

My wife, daughter and I stayed here while our son was at camp. It was a quiet and cozy house near a river park and roughly 30 mins from Winston-Salem and State parks. The hosts were responsive and we enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Super clean and very well maintained. I stayed for a week while visiting family in the area and will definitely be booking it again next time. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area or just wanting a peaceful getaway.

The house is very nice. Other than your food and drinks, you have everything you need. You can tell a lot of effort has gone into making the cabin warm and inviting with different nice soaps, comfortable surroundings, very clean and great location.

Perfect Place For A Weekend Away

This property is a little slice of heaven! Far enough away from the hustle and bustle, But close enough for a 10-20 minute run to town for some delightful coffee or delicious local fare. Or bring your favorite ingredients and prepare your own feast on the stove, or the flat top out back. Turn your ringer off and sit on the porch out front or the deck out back, enjoy a sunrise or beautiful sunset, with the sun wicking through the trees and maybe changing your perspective. Take a short hike through the woods to the edge of the Dan river. Its worth the walk. The property is beautiful, The hosts are amazing, The house is beatifully decorated and super comfy!

If you can find a better place to stay, I’d like to know! In this rural are between two cities, the scenery is beautiful. The small house has all amenities, and every kitchen utensil you need and more. The hosts are very friendly and responsive. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

Great stay!

We had an wonderful stay at this cottage! The location was perfect—quiet and tucked away, surrounded by nature. We spotted some deer outside one evening. The setting is beautiful, especially while we were here in the fall, with the colorful leaves surrounding the property. The cottage was clean, and comfortable. We appreciated the binder filled with local restaurant menus—it made planning our meals easier. Hanging Rock State Park, just a short drive away, is an absolute must-see if you’re staying here! The trek up the mountain is worth the breath-taking views!! The hosts are kind and checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. (although I didn't notice until the day we were leaving ;) it was still a thoughtful and appreciated touch) Directions for checking in and out were easy to understand. Overall we had a great experience staying here and would do so again if we are ever in the area again.

Beautiful Spot, Kind Hosts!

We stayed here for a wedding with our cat, and we could not have been happier. Our hosts were very accommodating, great with communication, and understanding when it took us a while to find an uber to leave (past the checkout time). Every day we returned to the cabin from running around doing wedding party errands felt like returning home. The area it’s located in was GORGEOUS, quiet, and close enough to a walmart and DG that accessing extra necessities is a short drive. Would recommend having a car available because the area is remote. The hosts also have a binder full of activities and menus of local restaurants which was very helpful.My fiancee and I would love to return one day. 10/10 exeprience.

Nice getaway

House was super clean inside. Nice big bedroom and bathroom. Living room furniture fits nicely in the space but isn’t super comfortable. Outside the front porch was a nice place to sit and watch traffic and listen to the roosters down the road. Back yard area has fire pit, small deck and concrete slab with a grill. Could have used a good cleaning and had the sticks/acorns blown off. We didn’t get a chance to use the back deck or fire pit since it was rainy when we were there. Surrounding area didn’t have a lot of options other than the river. Not much for antique shops without driving a ways. Had a hard time finding an ice cream shop, too! Overall we had a good stay and were able to disconnect from our busy work lives for a few days, which was exactly what we wanted to do. We did go to Hillbilly Hideaway for supper one night. Food was good. Interesting place! Thanks for sharing your cottage with us!

The overall stay was great! The hosts were very kind and wanted to ensure a pleasant stay. The cottage was well kept. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 and not a 5 star is because the scents used help the place "smell nice" were overwhelming to my wife and I. But opening the windows up for a little while helped tremendously. I would definitely consider staying again, but will remember to request not to have the scents going.

The cottage was very cozy, clean and private. The hosts really paid attention to all the details, down to the K-cups and paper plates to the board games and binder of restaurants and things to do in the area. Our dog loved the quiet, woodsy area in the backyard. The hosts were very easily accessible if any issues arose. We hope to stay there again in the future!

This little cottage was perfect for our getaway. The hosts had everything you could need gathered in a binder, from places to shop, eat or even explore in the area. Every accomodation you could think of, this place has. Extra toiletries, just in case. All the dishes you could need, a Blackstone for grilling. Plenty of space in the cutest quietest little neighborhood.
