"Arriving by train had to ask how to get to hotel as having NO working handy coming from oversees . The access to hotel very steep and a challenge using a walker (rollator), however it was very nice of the receptionist/manager backing down a car to manage the steep hill, although there are 45 steps to use. Later on enjoying a beer/wine in the very quiet lobby using the rocking chairs. To explore Meissen, we used a taxi from hotel - called by staff - to the Dom and from there a sight seeing bus...

"De douchedeur is stuk en op een ondeugdelijke wijze gerepareerd. Het ontbijt is prima. Het door ons genuttigde diner was matig, kleine hoeveelheden en matige kwaliteit."

"Sehr schöne Zimmer. Freundlicher Empfang. Sehr sauber! Frühstück wurde im Nebengebäude (Restaurant) angeboten und war völlig ausreichend. Kurzer Fußmarsch in die Altstadt, sehr schöner Weihnachtsmarkt. Wir waren für eine Nacht hier und können das Hôtel uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Vielen Dank "

"Viele schlechte Bewertungen !!?? Ich muss sagen weiß nicht warum ? Es stinkt nicht, Zimmer sind sauber, kein Schimmel im Bad etc. Das Hotel ist für den Preis sehr gut. Das Baugerüst draußen soll heute verschwinden. Außen und innen ist alles erneuert worden. Fahrradraum vorhanden und Frühstück im Bäcker 3 Minuten entfernt. Ich empfehle."

"Sehr gute Unterkunft, mit sehr freundlichem, kompetenten Personal. Das Zimmer stand bereits eine Stunde vor CheckIn zur Verfügung. Saubere, komfortable Zimmer mit Kühlschrank und sehr bequemen Betten. Das Bad mit Badewanne war für uns kein Problem, für ältere Menschen eventuell problematisch. Ein Safe wäre wünschenswert. Kostenfreie Parkplätze und ein tolles Frühstücksbuffet runden den sehr guten Gesamteindruck ab. Direkt am Hotel befindet sich der Riesenhügel mit Braustube und Cocktailbar....

"Ik vond de perfecte locatie. De lift in ouwe gebouw is aanwezig. De clokken bellen om 7 uur zijn zo hard klinkend dat je lekker ontbijt gaat zeker niet missen. De hotel is een aanrader."

"Spectacular location and an absolutely charming hotel. Room was massive and breakfast was great. Top tip - if you want to eat dinner at their restaurant (and you do - delicious) make sure to book in advance. Also, if you're considering just doing a day trip to Meissen instead, don't. Stay at least two nights. This town is spectacular."

"Internet was very slow. Staff, not great. Nobody works during the night. Freezing cold rooms and when trying to put the heaters on, they don't work. You have to sleep with scarves and jackets on. Breakfast is terrible. Bathroom door is made of glass and the bathroom has a window towards the living room, with the blinds on the living room side of the glass. Personnel always makes sure that you know when they are closing or leaving. Pillows are terrible also, and bedding had a humid feel."

"Staying in an historic schloss in the eastern German countryside was a unique experience. The owner/manager was friendly and helpful, though communication was a bit disconnected at first. The Schloss is well off the beaten path - but very charming."
