Had an amazing stay at the Hands at Work hub which works in eight different countries in Africa. The Hands staff were amazing and we felt blessed by them. You will NOT be roughing it here. This is the common and bar area where everyone gathers in the evening and after the game drives.
Spend a night in the Chalkley Treehouse. Listen to the wildlife all around you. You won't sleep but you will love it!
A note about these safari drives. You will NEVER be hungry. In the morning you start with a snack at the lodge. Part way through your drive, you stop for coffee (spiked?) and a snack. Then it's back to the lodge for breakfast. There is also lunch and tea. This all happens again on the evening game drive. Snack at the lodge, stop mid- drive for cocktail hour and snacks then back to the lodge for dinner. This was true of both lodges that we stayed at.

The old gold mining town Barberton, in Mpumalanga, South Africa, has lots of picturesque colonial buildings. It is worth a stop for a few days, when/if you are in the area. It is nicer and more fun than nearby Neilspruit.
