We have been staying here once yearly for many years. It’s a beautiful location with great views. The house is well stocked with anything you may need and very well-kept and clean. It never disappoints. Communication with the host/owner couldn’t be any better. Highly recommend this place!!

Cabin with a view

The host was great to work with. She gave us many ideas of places to visit and they were all great. The cabin was beautiful and was perfect for what we were looking for- a quiet getaway. The kitchen was well equipped and the porches front and back had spectacular views. We would love to return at another time!

Best cabin ever!

My husband and I go to the mountains every year in the fall. This is the absolute best cabin we have ever stayed in. There is nothing we needed that wasn’t provided for us. From the time we pulled in the driveway till we left, we had everything. One of the best parts was the awesome front porch and back porch views of the wide range mountains. Kitchen was fully equipped. Beds were so comfortable. Just can’t say enough about this cabin. Kathy was so helpful with any question I had from check in to check out . We will definitely go back next year. Thank you, Kathy for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Relaxing

We had a fantastically relaxing time. Cathy has a beautiful home situated overlooking the east and west. The sunrises through the trees and the sunsets over the mountain in the horizon was breathtaking. I wish I was still there. :-)

Great mountain retreat!

We spent 2 weeks at this homey and comfortably mountain home! Our host Cathy provided everything we needed to make our stay the refreshing, cool-air reprieve we were looking for. We have come to the NC mountains for a number of years, and my son and his wife said this was the place they've liked the best. The views were o/standing. Our communications with Cathy made it clear that she wanted us to enjoy her place. I would recommend her cabin to anyone.

On the Rocks - your home away from home!

The cabin, On the Rocks, offers beautiful mountain views on the east and west sides as you sit on the wrap around porch. The surrounding was so peaceful, allowing us to take in all the sounds of nature and enjoy a quiet and relaxing weekend. The cabin was well furnished--the kitchen was the most well-stocked of any that we have ever had other rentals, the beds were extremely comfortable, especially after a long day of hiking in Buck Mountain and the surrounding areas, and the bathrooms were well-stocked and clean. Cathy, the host, was very responsive to any questions we had before arriving at the cabin, and easy to get in touch with if we needed anything. If you're looking for a place to stay in the Buck Mountain or Purlear area, look no further! You've found it at On the Rocks!

A beautiful cabin with views on both sides.

My wife and I had an overnight stay at this cabin. The cabin is perfectly positioned, with decks which benefit from extensive mountain views on both sides. Being February we did not spend much time outside, but found the inside delightfully comfortable. The cabin was warm and cozy with tasteful decor. To our delight the lounge also had recliners, which made for an even more relaxing evening. The cabin was spotless and has everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The owner was very responsive and kindly allowed us to stay longer at the cabin without us even asking, when our two night stay was cut to short due to unexpected work obligations. Stay here and you will not be disappointed.

Simply wonderful

This was the first vacation my family and I took since my mom passed two years ago and it was absolutely wonderful. The cabin was pristinely clean, warm and welcoming. We felt very at home and great communication with the owner. She is lovely and the views are spectacular. We loved the privacy and quietness of the beautiful cabin. Highly recommend a stay.

A little Piece of Heaven

What can we say!! We were looking for a place where we could relax, see the mountains and just enjoy some piece and quiet.. the Cabin is UP on top of the mountain just as described.. the views are spectacular. The owner has gone above and beyond to provide all the comforts of home... and you will wish you never had to leave!! Cathy was so helpful with any questions we had and all the information we needed before we got there... it is truly one of the best places and "feel like home" places we have stayed in over 30 years, and we travel alot.... thank you Cathy for a wonderful trip, we hope to come back!!

Awesome views

This cabin was just what we needed! Such awesome views of both sunsets and sunrise. Weather was different on each side of the wrap around porch. The cabin was beautifully decorated. Cathy had it stocked for what ever was needed. The cabin was secluded and so peaceful. We can’t wait to go back!

Spectacular mountain views

Fantastic family memories at this well-appointed, immaculate cabin with majestic views of God's country. The property owner is very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We stayed 2 nights and wished we had planned a longer stay because we enjoyed it so much. The cabin has a unique feature where you can take in the sunrise in the morning AND reflect on your relaxing day with a sunset view from the wrap-around porch, wine is optional.

Great getaway

Once again this place did not disappoint. The checkin process couldn’t have been easier and the cabin was clean and stocked with all the essentials and then some. The wrap around porch with beautiful views was amazing. This was our second time staying here and it I’ll definitely be back!

Picture Perfect

Our family booked this beautiful home last minute and the owner was one of the most helpful and kind owners I’ve ever experienced through VRBO. She really cared about making sure we had everything we needed and helped with wonderful ideas for exploring the area. The home was perfect and I can’t imagine there being a better place to witness both sunrise and sunset views than from her porches. We had a perfect weekend and are thankful she shared her home with us!

Anniversary Trip

My husband and I made a quick get-a-way to the mountains for the weekend to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The cabin/house was amazing. We had everything we needed there. The views are even better than the pictures. We sat on the porch both nights and watched the sunset together. Everything about this place is 5 stars including the host.
