"If AI were to make a hipster hotel it would be this one. Staff was not welcoming. They throttle the ac at night, so the room was hot. You can’t trigger the AC to come on. The bed is just okay so it was a miserable night. You get a free drink at the bar with your room, but the bar is lit like a retirement home and the bartender is not interested in swapping out blown kegs. It is designed for guests to not use the amenities. We were happy to drive away quickly and experience real Portland...

"I wish I had said something at the time but the clerk who checked me in said my room number out loud which shouldn't be done due to it being unsafe, luckily no one overheard. There was no staff available in the lobby after 9pm and they mention they have people available in their lobby cafe at all times but during my stay I didn't see anyone. "My stay at the KEX hotel was phenomenal, at first i wasn’t expecting the rr to be a shared bathroom on every floor but it wasn’t an issue at all. Staff was very helpful in many areas. There are many cool things this stay had to offer such as complimentary coffee and tea, a snazzy photobooth and even a restaurant within, truly had an amazing stay!"
