This historic duplex is located in the heart of Portland's most unique neighborhoods: the Alberta Arts District, where there is always something unbelievable to look at, like people riding bikes while juggling. Amazing restaurants to eat at; it’s home to Portland's culinary creativity. Fun pubs to have a drink; locally brewed beers won't disappoint. And loads of independent stores to purchase gifts, adorable dresses, and funky jewelry await you. The best part is it’s the location you hope to get when booking a vacation rental. Within walking distance to all on Alberta Street, it’s 15 minutes by car from the airport and 10 minutes by car to downtown Portland. The bus stop is a block away, and there is free street parking.

High Gear (the upper level of the duplex) has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with an open living, dining, and kitchen area. The first floor houses 3 of the bedrooms: 2 with queen beds and the third with a bunk bed (double lower and twin above). The first floor also has a full bath with a walk-in shower. The second floor houses a fourth bedroom, a loft area with a futon and skylights, and a gorgeous full bathroom.

The kitchen is fully stocked, from coffee grinder to microwave oven to blender. You will be able to cook up a feast and eat in comfort at the wood dining table.

One major perk about renting with us at Shift Vacation Rentals is the coupons our lovely neighbors share with our guests. Frock Boutique, Tin Shed, Mimosa Studios, Eco Vibe Apparel, Imelda's Shoes, Crafty Wonderland, and more... You get discounts to all these wonderful places! So eat, drink, and shop—all just a stroll away and all at a discounted price!

The side yard boasts an exterior ping-pong table, picnic table, propane BBQ, and tree-covered sitting area. In nice weather, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy a meal or let the kids run free!

A well-behaved pet is allowed. The pet fee is $175.

The house has been newly gutted and remodeled using sustainable and local materials and has inspiring touches throughout. It promises to be one of the best vacation rentals in all of Portland.

For larger groups, this house can be rented along with Low Gear, the 3-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom rental located in the lower section of this duplex.

Cozy house and amazing neighborhood

This house is exactly as advertised. It was wonderful. The neighborhood is busy with great restaurants and shops, which we loved. We spent a lot of time outside at the picnic and ping pong tables.I would highly recommend!

Quick Stop in Portland

Great space for our group of 7 adults passing through Portland. The place made us wish we could stay longer! The space is great, the neighborhood has nice food options, and it's easy to get around by car.

Gorgeous Alberta Home

This property was absolutely gorgeous and felt so homey. My family of 7 adults had ample room to relax, have our daily coffee gatherings and even a chat session in the outside garden. The location was a dream; lots of coffee shops, bars, restaurants --- the walkability was 10 out of 10! Would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect location

My friends and I stayed here for our annual girls trip and it was perfect. The property was unique and made for some great photo ops. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance of the house and everything else is a short car ride away. The beds were also very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Complete Alberta Arts district experience!

Safe and comfy, this central spot gives you a good home base and makes it easy to not only get around but fully experience all of what the Alberta arts district has to offer. Everyone in my group, young to old, loved something about our stay. The owners were easy to talk to, quick to answer, and very understanding. Would definitely stay again

Relaxing! Home away from home.

Just book! Owners are incredible host who care about your comfort and experience. Property is clean, in a great location and is well stocked with everything you need. We visited Portland for my Sisters wedding, Michelle and Klaas’s house was perfect for the gathering. We had a fantastic stay!

Great location with space for all of us.

The property looked small at first, but exceeded my expectations. I was also a little worried that it was on a busy street, but I had the most restful sleep there of our entire vacation. Great neighborhood with good restaurants and interesting shops. I would stay there again. Parking on the street was subject to availability, but we were lucky.

Family reunion

Accommodated all of our needs during our stay indoors and out. BBQ and ping pong were a bonus. Big open space and plenty of dishes, glasses and cutlery to accommodate our extended family for dinner.

You can’t pick a better property in Portland

It’s in the Alberta Arts district. You cannot pick a better location or property. We loved every thing about it. We were a group of 7. Mix of kids, teenagers and adults. Lots of amazing restaurants around- and good options for skip or Uber eats for late night delivery.

Thanksgiving trip to see our family

Adorable place right in the Alberta art district near to one of my favorite sushi spots. Clean property. Lots to do in the area. Safe neighborhood. 4 stars because I wish there was some coffee available in the morning.

Everything about the stay was great. The overall security of the facility give me peace of mind. The interior was clean and well-maintained. It was within walking distance to many points of interest. I would stay here again if I were in Portland.

I’ll be back…

Stylish, spacious, great location! Hosts have carefully considered the comfort of their guests and made their property one of the best short term rentals I have ever enjoyed. Six adults and two dogs had a great stay.
