Our second stay — and probably our last.
The location is great and the staff was friendly — but sleep? Not so much. Over a two-night stay, we might have managed a grand total of eight hours.
Between midnight and 2 a.m., the hallways turned into a racetrack for wedding guests apparently training for the Olympics. This all took place one floor above the front desk, so I can only assume the staff heard every cheer, shout, and thundering footstep as clearly as we did. A night security guard might be a worthwhile investment.
And then there was room 364 — our own little acoustics experiment. The walls were so thin we became very familiar with the couple next door. I now know their names, life goals, and preferred terms of endearment — and we’ve never even met (thankfully). At one point, we blasted the TV to drown out the serenade, but it turns out even surround sound was no match for true love. By morning, we could even hear when they received text notifications.
Needless to say, we made a stealthy exit before our neighbors woke up, mostly to avoid awkward eye contact.
To top it all off, once we got home, we noticed an extra $31.80 charge on our card — a “destination fee” of $15 per night plus tax. This fee was never mentioned when we booked or checked in, even though the room was fully prepaid. It felt sneaky and left a bad impression after an already sleepless stay.
