Lakeside Cabin with a Touch of Vintage Charm and All the Modern Conveniences

  • Cabin 5 - Two-Bedroom Cabin with a queen bed and a full bed. This cabin can sleep up to 4 adults. The cabin is being upgraded for 2024 stays with new logs on the outside and an enclosed sun porch facing the lake with windows on three sides.

    You will see both sunrises and sunsets from this cozy cabin on the lake. During the day you can watch the freighters passing by, and at night minimal light pollution makes the star-gazing out of this world!

    We have eight beautiful cabins between Port Austin and Port Hope, MI that are all just steps away from Lake Huron. Each cabin has a kitchen, bathroom, dining area, living room, bathroom with shower, and outdoor firepit.

    The property is located adjacent to Lighthouse Park, and we have beautiful views of the Pte. Aux Barques Lighthouse as well as breathtaking sunrises and sunsets to be enjoyed with the relaxing sound of gentle waves.

    ​These cabins were built in the 1940's so they have a vintage look and feel, but include all the modern conveniences of home, with electric, city water, heat and A/C, WiFi, and TV!

    Includes: Each cabin is furnished with a refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, cookware, picnic table and outdoor gas grill.

    Free WiFi and Roku TV. The cabins have flat screen HDTVs.

Peaceful location, great location on the water. We had to cut our stay short my husband was sick so shortened the weekend and will need to come again to explore the area.

Great location and nice cabin

The check in check out process is very easy. All info needed for our stay ( Wi-Fi, TV) was posted. Nice cabins, love the enclosed porch facing lake. Cabin is right on Lake Huron. Short drive to many small towns and sightseeing opportunities. Great view of lighthouse.

The location is perfect. Such a beautiful view and right next to the light house. Had everything we needed. The shower could use an update, but other than that very nice stay.

Autumn vacation

Beautiful view of the lake. Very cute setting , furniture, bathroom, chairs and tables. Nice back porch for relaxing away from the elements. Excellent wood for bonfire on site and affordable. Bed was comfortable.

Relaxing Stay with Wonderful Views of Lake Huron

A perfect place to stay to get away from the typical summer traffic and crowds. Our cabin was incredibly clean and comfortable. The views of Lake Huron sunrises and sunsets were spectacular, especially having direct access to a quiet, shady beach, right outside our door. Candice and Ryan are incredible hosts. We would not hesitate to stay at their cozy lakeside cabin again!

Excellent location; rustic cabin

The lake view was amazing. The cabin has lots of amenities for being rustic. Note for a late fall stay, it can be a little chilly with the heat pump.

Awesome experience!

The cabin was clean and very homey. Loved that ot was old log cabin feeling. Loved the screened in pitch. Enjoyed my coffee and watching the sunrise out there. Will definitely stay there again. Check in and out were easy.

A good time

Cupboards, plates and surfaces were just a bit dusty. Firepit was absolutely beautiful with crashing waves behind your fire. View is awesome with screened in porch.

Nice

Nice rustic cabin. Beautiful view. Air conditioning was much appreciated. I felt the cabin was very clean considering the unfinished interior. So little would be needed to make this a great vacation spot. The shower drain needs attention asap. Overall, it was the location we needed, would stay there again.

The description was a little off.You cannot see the sunset yet, but probably can later in the summer.The beach is not easily accessible, there are two different steps to get down there, one with a rail and one without. From the photos we thought there would be great rock hunting, we ended up driving south to Lexington for good rock hunting.The cabin is very cute, the shower is a little larger than an old fashioned phone booth, it is clean and but has a lot of mold stains.It just wasn’t a good fit for us (older folks), we ended up leaving a day early.

Nice!…but

We loved the cabin…but NOT the shower. You could improve the overall comfort of the cabin by making an upgrade, barely usable. Housekeeping overlooked several simple things…not major deals, but causes some concern. (Grass and dirt around and under chairs, leftover pizza on a plate in the microwave, and gas tank of grill left on with a filthy grate and utensils left behind.) The lake and location are beautiful. Getting to the beach is difficult/rocks hard to get past to sand. All in all enjoyed our trip! The area and Lake Huron are gorgeous, peaceful and welcoming. ❤️

Lovely anniversary spot

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and found it very peaceful and serene! The rocks on the shoreline are unlike the rocks I’ve seen before in Lake Michigan, and it was fascinating to look through them! The lighthouse museum is walking distance away from the quaint little cabin. And we visited the nearby Port Austin to make the 7 mile round trip kayak trip to Turnip Island, where my boyfriend proposed to meA few things in the cabin (toilet paper roll, curtains and curtain rods, etc.) were outdated and should be replaced with something sturdier. They kept falling down when we attempted to move the curtains and even use toilet paper. But those are very easy things to remediate & minor details in comparison with the benefits to the little cabin. We had internet connection, coffee, salt and pepper, dish soap, and garbage bags were provided. And the beds were comfortable! We used the grill and enjoyed watching the sunset from the lawn chairs and the sunrise from the screened in porch. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

The cabin was nice. I loved the view, fire pit, and sun room was a plus. My only complaint is the bathroom was way too small. In my opinion it would be better to have a bigger bathroom with at least a full sink rather than two bedrooms. I also don’t feel you can consider the rooms separate since the wall doesn’t go to the ceiling. For a couple get away it is perfect. For a family vacation maybe not so much. If you like rustic this is the cabin for you.
