"A reasonable place to stay for basic lodging. 1 room was very clean, one not so much. Beds were fine for short (1 night stay). A little softer than referred. We were in town for a funeral, this hotel fit our needs. Staff were fairly responsive. The breakfast was bare basics but adequate."

"My room was mostly clean (water rings on some of the furniture that were sticky), but overall satisfactory. It was quiet and comfortable. I liked the layout including a sitting area with a desk. The architecture was beautiful (Frank Lloyd Wright). It’s a bit dated, but not awful. Close to Mason City’s downtown which is so quaint and totally walkable. Lots of history and beautiful architecture. I highly recommend if you want to hang out for a day or two."

"The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. He moved a fily with a barking dog to a different part of the hotel. He also, when we had trouble with the remote for the TV came and helped us manage finding TV stations."

"Smoke free room smelled and had cigarette burns on bath tub. Musty and out dated. Close to everything, many resturants and shops close by. Right on Rt18."

"Clear Lake is one of our hometowns and we have stayed here several times visiting. It is the only place to stay right on the lake (other than a VRBO, etc.). All the rooms face the lake, with a balcony or patio. Ground floor has fenced patios, with more space, it would be nice if the fence had a gate/opening, to get to the dock/bar without walking through the interior hallway (or through the other rooms’ patios). The rooms/bathrooms are nice but could benefit from a little updating. Nothing...
