Beautiful place, but some negatives
We thought the place, it’s location and the views were out of this world. Such a beautiful place to spend time with family.
However, the facilities are not all fit for purpose. The kitchen in the main house is not very well equipped. To cook a meal for a large family it was difficult. The oven is not good at all.
The listing says the property has Wi-Fi but this was very poor. We needed Wi-Fi for our family business to be monitored whilst we were away but the speed was very slow and most of the house could not access it at all. The plumbing for the bathroom is archaeic. If you flush toilet tissue, designed to be flushed, the shower backs up with faeces rising from the floor drain. This might be an issue for this region, however in my opinion this does not make it a superior stay.
We had issues with washing machines not working too so we had to share the one that worked properly.
The owners don’t speak any English, so you need to be ready with a translate app in order to have a conversation.
The owners said that they would come once a week to service the pool. They actually turned up unannounced on a few occasions and started watering plants. All they needed to do was give us a schedule of when they were planning on coming so that we were expecting them. One afternoon I was sunbathing by the pool in swimwear and they turned up. It felt very intrusive. We tried to explain, using the translate app that this was not acceptable but they didn’t seem bothered that we were upset.
They gave us our deposit back on the last day but then emailed after we got home to say that they wanted 50 euros back and accused us of leaving the place unclean, even though we had left it spotless.
I wouldn’t go back to this place, although the area is stunning.
