  • The Richards and Suzanne Aparment has 3 bedrooms with one has comfortable twin beds, duvets, extra pillows and blankets the second one has a large doble bed and the third bedroom has 4 twin beds in a large area,has 2 bathroms one has a bathtub pressure shower, heated towel rail and soft towels. The living area has a well equipped ,with a fire place with a polished chestnut floor giving a ^`Home ´feeling the dining room is place in our Galeria with stunnig views to Peña Labra Pike. There is a comfortable sofa and armchair, coffee table, reading lamps, bookcase and TV with Sky News and Spanish channels.
    . It’s perfect for eating out, relaxing, bird-watching and enjoying the magnificent view. You can also access to a private garden from the Galeria. The entire apartment is centrally heated. The apartment is for 8 people – either friends or a Family is suitable for children.


    Comfort is the by-word – high 6 quality twin beds and a master bedroom with a large doble bed a duvets, cotton sheets, soft towels with central heating throughout but cool in summer. Fully equipped kitchen, high pressure shower, heated towel-rails etc. This part of the Liébana Valley remains unspoilt with first rate walking, climbing, bird-watching and wild flowers. The coast with its white sandy beaches is only an hour away through the dramatic Hermida Gorge. Doing nothing is a definite option. We call it “Basieda Disease”.
    The Picos de Europa National Park extends over the provinces of Cantabria, Asturias and León. Olmares like the Fuente Dé cable car and the historic village of Potes is situated in Cantabria.
    We are also on the edge of the Fuentes Carrionas National Park.

Lovely getaway in the Picos

Olmares apartments are very clean and well furnished. They are located in a small and quiet town. They are owned by very nice British people that live on the premises. They were always accessible to us when we had questions. There is a very nice common room that is open to all people staying at Olmares. There we found an extensive set of recommendations for activities around Olmares. An impressive array of washing machines is available. There are very genuine and Very nice restaurants close to Olmares. Especially we enjoyed the restaurant Abejo in Dos Amantes owned by two brothers. There are great walks in the hills around Olmares with spectacular views. We purchased a book describing these walks from the owners of Olmares. We never met another person on the walks and sometimes a compass came in handy to assure us of the correct route. There is no real city close. The closest is Potes, a 20 minutes drive. It is a rather touristish town with souvenir shops. We didn't like it too much except for shopping for food and Internet access. We had looked for a calm and quiet place that offered activities in nature as well as a retreat from daily city life. At Olmares we certainly found that! We definitely plan to come back.

What a fabulous find this apartment was! Stunning scenery from the terrace, Well equipped kitchen, we had a one bedroom apartment with terrace. A lovely warm welcome from Eva who is so lovely and was on hand with good knowledge of the area and very friendly! We will definitely be back soon! Lovely welcome with fresh bread, freshly laid eggs , water, tea and coffee! A real home from home and fantastic laundry room !

El mejor lugar para descansar y vivir la naturaleza

Entras y te encuentras como en casa. El apartamento permitía desayunar, comer y cenar con paisaje precioso. Y por si fuera poco Lara te recibe con alegría, te da consejos para recorrer los lugares más bonitos y está siempre pendiente de que falte de nada. Nada como alguien enamorado de la naturaleza como ella para transmitir todo lo que hay por descubrir!

We cannot fault this property - immaculate, comfortable and well equipped. We needed somewhere to unwind and re-charge our batteries, and this was it! Richard and Suzanne where so kind and helpful - the views were stunning, and apart from a couple of walks, we sat and stared! We had a terrace apartment - if you are sensitive to noise, maybe it would be better to request a balcony room, but I think we were probably unlucky in that the folk above us had hob nail boots on most of the time - not the hosts fault AT ALL! A lovely place to stay, and we will definitely return asap.

Stunning Mountain Retreat

We loved our stay in this cosy apartment with amazing mountain views. Eagles and vultures flying over and lovely rainbows, cowbells ringing; a very beatifull place Richard was a very thoughtfull host. We appreciated the heating after a 9 hour drive from the south. We are looking forward to visiting again as soon as possible.

Ferienaufenthalt in Basieda

Wir verbrachten eine Woche in der Ferienwohnung in Basieda, genossen die Ruhe inmitten einer herrlichen Landschaft. Der Blick von der Terrasse auf die umliegenden Berge war traumhaft schön; die Ferienwohnung selbst geräumig, gut gepflegt und komfortabel. Im Aufentshaltsraum stand den Gästen jede Menge gut sortiertes Informationsmaterial zur Verfügung und auch der Eigentümer stand uns jeder Zeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Die Angaben im Online-inserat waren absolut verlässlich, wir waren in keinster Weise enttäuscht und können die Unterkunft bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.
