Parque natural regional Périgord Limousin

My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.

This was an epic sunset! We are back in rural France, in the middle of nowhere, and at the lakes where I spent most of my summer holidays as a kid. This was my grand-parents' property and my parents look after the place nowadays. I do not get to go there more than once a year, but it always fills me with amazing memories every time I get the opportunity to visit. PS - you can see my dad fishing in the centre in the frame. PSS - talking about fishing, we have big carps (like 20+ Kg!) in the lake and we have mostly people from the UK and Netherlands pay to come angling (no kill). They either camp on the site, or rent the small chalet we have there. If you are interested, ping me :-)

We stayed overnight in this beautiful chateau, the only guests of the lovely owners. As we were shown around the various wings of the chateau - some of which were in ruins - so many eras of history were unveiled.

Sitio agradable, buena opción para visitar Burdeos a pie ya que tiene todo bastante cerca. El personal es muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudarte. La habitación es pequeña, pero la cama es cómoda.

Location is great, just in the border of the city center. People at the reception at all times were super nice, friendly and helpful. The bad points, room was very hot at nights, no AC, only floor fans. Our suggestions, there are portable AC units. Buy some.
