The family room was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped, with complimentary toiletries that were especially appreciated as we’d forgotten ours at home. "This is a charming guesthouse in a very walkable location, near the Dover Castle, numerous pubs and restaurants. Alex the owner is super helpful and gracious. The kitchen was well-stocked with many breakfast items and there were a few good cafes nearby for a nice latte or flat white. Upon our departure, Alex arranged a taxi to take us to the cruise port which was very helpful. The room we stayed in had a comfortable bed and a lot of personality. If I find myself in Dover again, I will gladly...

"We were very lucky to get a parking spot as it was just on the road at the front of the building. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately the en-suite consisted of toilet and shower only - the wash hand basin was in the bedroom where there were no towel rails. The gentleman who greeted us was excellent as he had to do everything including cooking the breakfasts due to his manager being unwell."

"We were expecting a well maintained, boutique hotel, sadly it was not. Although refurbished in Nov 2014, the state of our room (1) lacked maintenance. Although each was relatively minor, when 10 issues are present, then the result is a disappointment. I relayed these to the receptionist on departure, and she seemed reluctant to seriously acknowledge the problem. This summed up the general feeling of laissez-faire."

"This is a basic, old, seaside hotel on the sea front. Price wise, if there hadn't been any issues, I would say you get what you pay for. However, there were issues, I made a pay on arrival booking for 5 rooms, they took two of the payments from my account several days before my stay then lied saying EXPEDIA had taken them. They had not. They were quite rude in their replies giving all sorts of excuses and blaming Expedia. The biggest issue was that there was no hot water in any of the rooms, ...

"Getting to the first Floor was not easy with a large luggage since the staircase is so narrow. No indication that There was no elevators. Room too noisy at night with fast car traffic passing by. the Windows had to ne openned beause of the hot weather. Not a good night sleep."

"Excellent overnight stay prior to getting the Channel Tunnel to France for a holiday. Great location, lovely English pub, good food, great accommodation and lovely staff. Second stay here but will definitely book again if we are going to Europe in the future."
