PARKLAND MANSION • SPACIOUS & HUGE YARD

The main house is almost 4000 square feet, it has 4 bedroom 4 bathrooms, huge kitchen with island and brand new appliances.

The master bedroom is on the first floor, with 2 huge closet and 2 years old jacuzzi and it’s own central AC.

The Guest House: is detached from the main house, it has 1 full bedroom and 1 full bathroom. It can sleep 4 people. 1 queen bed and 1 pull up couch. It has a small kitchen with its own appliances, refrigerator, small cooktop stove, microwave, coffee maker, large closet, 65 inches TV

The courtyard: When you open the first door, it’s opens to a beautiful courtyard, the heated pool, sitting area and BBQ area. The courtyard is large enough to accommodate 25 to 30 people.

The property: Sits on almost 2 acres of land. There is a huge front yard and an even bigger backyard.

WE HAVE A NO EVENT POLICY.
If you plan to host an event, YOU MUST receive prior approval from us.

Ice maker
The house has a new refrigerator, however we have opted not to connect the ice maker.

Security Cameras
We have 5 cameras installed on the outside of the property and around the pool for our guest safety.

We wanted to share a few maintenance issues we experienced during our stay. The plumbing was a significant problem — the water was discolored at times and would randomly stop running in different parts of the house. The hot water never worked in the master bedroom, and the toilet in that bathroom wouldn’t flush for several days.The upstairs bathroom is missing a shower curtain, which causes the entire room to flood when showering. The BBQ grill lid is broken and a rack is missing. In the pool room bedroom, there is a large dent in the wall and the light bulb was out, leaving the room without lighting.We’re sharing this so future guests are aware and so these issues can hopefully be addressed.

STAYER BEWARE: Poor Conditions, Privacy Violations, & Dishonest HostOur stay was terrible. The house is poorly maintained, but the host’s behavior was even worse. He uses a "reporting trap": his instructions demand in all caps that you report every issue or face charges, yet when we did, he ignored us, denied the problems, or became dismissive.Major Issues:Privacy Breach: The host entered the house unannounced through the garage into the laundry room, terrifying my sister. Water Safety: He disconnected the fridge water/ice due to "well water liability" but refused to answer twice when I asked if the tap water was even safe to drink.Retaliatory Accusations: After we checked out, he accused us of needing "extra cleaning" simply because we stripped the beds and left the linens in the laundry room—despite us leaving the rest of the house clean.Dilapidated State: We found the front door handle lying on the floor. There was a broken bed, stains on the furniture, a non-functional grill, and broken tiles/dents in the flooring. The kitchen, meant for 16 people, had only 6 forks and no large pots, many lights don't work (no lights at all in one bathroom). The pool deck was dirty, and the firepit was broken. This host is a poor communicator who refuses to maintain his property and does not respect guest privacy. He blamed our group size for these issues, even though we informed him of our 15 guests at the time of booking. (And 2 guests left due to the poor conditions)

Skip this place. This place has lot of potential but it’s neglected, I would not recommend staying here.Pros: lots of square footage, quiet and safe neighborhood, kitchen well stocked with cooking pans, nice washer/dryer, high chairs provided, A/C works well, the atrium is really nice & shaded in the afternoon, the host approved allowing other local family members to come over for a gathering, price was lower than most other properties in the area.Cons: The house desperately needs some TLC. The property is tired and in need of attention. Instructions were not provided for the pool or TVs. We figured out the TVs but never did get the pool heater to work, water had a yellow/brown tint to it which was concerning, dishwasher left a soapy film on everything so we used all paper plates & utensils. Some of these were minor inconveniences, some were frustrating oversights, and some are major reasons we’d recommend not staying here.The owner was communicative but his communication was confusing and not exactly helpful. We received check-in instructions only after asking 4 times over 3 days.It has the bare essentials like beds, hot water, and working A/C but the hospitality side is severely lacking. We would not stay here again and we would not recommend this place.

Renters beware! As a gratitude seeker, I love leaving fun, happy feedback… and in the pictures, this place looks like it would have all the makings of a great review… unfortunately, what once was a gorgeous property, has now become tattered and worn, beat up and bruised. Wouldn’t be tooooooo bad if that was actually disclosed. But the reality vs expectations of a luxurious stay are far and wide. There was poop around the hot tub for goodness sakes. But here’s the worst part: the host was unresponsive to make it right. Not even a single reply. I am leaving this review a week after hoping he’d make it right. Not just in compensation, but in promises to fix or disclose the issues. If you are in the area, I recommend you go somewhere else: here’s why:-host Didn’t send check in instructions till 3:37pm after me texting him since 1pm, check in is at 3pm-front door actually fell off the hinges - he sent someone to fix that after 24 hours. -master bathroom shower clogged -actual clumps of hair on the floor-dead spiders on webs in the bathtub-poop around the hot tub-holes in walls -lots of broken thingsIf that’s all okay with you, feel free to rent the space. I promise you’ll be disappointed.

Parkland Mansion

The property was well-located, allowing us to access beaches, the mall, and close family members. The host answered my questions promptly. The home was well-stocked, with plenty of kitchen items, towels, sheets, and bathroom necessities. We did not use the guest house but peeked in and found it delightful. The beds in the main house were super comfortable, and the master suite was a huge hit with my mom. The property is very private, so if you like hustle and bustle, this may not be your place. The home needs a few repairs, but it is evident the host is working through themOverall, we would definitely stay there again!

Okay, but not great

We rented the property with other family members over a holiday weekend in order to be close to family in the area. The property is large and has a pool and a yard in a nice neighborhood However, the house is very tired. All of the reviews were glowing, so we were not expecting a house with so much wear and tear.The owner/manager was slow with the check-in details and we had to contact VRBO to track down the instructions, which was stressful and annoying.We have used VRBO for several vacations, but this stay is pushing us back to focus on hotels-at least you know what you're going to get!

DO NOT BOOK

We came in for a wedding and were set to check in at 3. Never received information for check in. Contacted the owner multiple times throughout the day. Contacted Vrbo and they could not reach the owner either. Almost 2 hours past the time to check in, the owner messaged us the information. When I asked him why he sent the information so late, the owner never responded and still has not apologized. We were late to the rehearsal dinner because we could not check in and get ready. Do not book this listing. Vrbo did not offer any help other than canceling the booking, leaving us with nowhere to stay. Will not use Vrbo again.

Family Memory

Our family enjoyed our stay in the beautiful Parkland home. We celebrated our mother’s 80th birthday in black-tie dinner style during our stay. The setting was conducive to family gatherings for children and elders in a quiet and secluded luxury neighborhood. We had some hiccups regarding the gathering, but was able to iron everything out with the Host. I would recommend staying in this home-away from home.

Super clean and fun stay

The pool was wonderful!! I was in town for my baby shower with some friends, and there was so much space and every single bed was so comfortable. The host was so helpful with any concerns, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Beautiful house

This house is amazing. It's beautiful inside and out. Definitely a must stay if you're in Parkland the guest house is well equipped. Great place the location is convenient for all activities.
