The access to this unit was completely and utterly misleading, even with multiple prior request for clarification (yes, I have screenshots of the messages exchanged, and my own photos and videos showing the reality). Upon arrival and seeing that the stairs are nearly double in number (having let them know I have elderly people, thus my double-checking and asking for clarity) I asked the property owner for help, and was told nothing could be done, “the property was as described” (which it wasn’t). I was told by Merveil customer assistance that a manager would call, which they didn’t. VRBO told me to return the keys so I wouldn’t get in trouble, so I did, and did this all while trying to find a place for my family at 9pm in Paris. In an even bigger letdown, VRBO has done nothing to help me resolve this, doing a so-called escalation and then never replying to my followups and simply closing the matter on their own. Once my vacation was ending, I received a message from Merveil for checking out - I replied that I never stayed, I told that to their customer rep back when I ‘checked-in.” I then got a call from someone who said he was so sorry, very confused about how this happened, how we should have stayed a night and they would have placed us elsewhere (I was never offered that option when I called them!).Both Merveil and VRBO had a chance to make this right but didn’t.
