We loved our stay here! It’s clear that caring for this apartment and guests is not an extra activity for the proprietor. Jean-François works to make sure everything is up to a high standard. He communicates clearly and provided great instructions for arrival, check-in, and departure. We would absolutely stay here again.
Here are some specific notes from our experience.
Location
So, let’s be honest, everyone who has visited Paris has their favorite location. We have stayed in six different arrondissements over the years. This location is fantastic! Yes, it’s touristy, for sure, but rather international. What’s great is that it’s lively and friendly. There is a grocery store right next door and a metro stop about 50 feet out the front door of the building. Up and down this street (which is a continuation of rue Montorgueil) are endless cafés, restaurants, patisseries, take-away food stores, and other commerce. It’s a blast. And Les Halles, a huge, newly-re-done shopping center is at the other end of the street, about a 10-minute leisurely walk. Also at that end of the street is one of the largest subway stations in Europe: Châtelet-Les Halles, where 5 metro lines and 3 RER lines converge. You can get anywhere in the city from there quickly and easily.
Sleeping
The queen size bed was comfortable. We both slept well. There is a sofa sleeper in the living room. It was squeaky when we sat on the sofa. I don’t think we would have wanted to sleep on it, but kids probably wouldn’t care a bit. The bedroom has blackout curtains on the window which we loved.
Kitchen
The small corner kitchen is lovely. It’s not set up for full-on cooking, but it works great for keeping and assembling breakfasts and lunches. With so many adjacent options, why would one want to cook anyway?
Other
The wifi is fantastic. One can easily have several streaming or working computers connected at once. It’s better than any internet connection we could get at our home in the U.S. There are two fans that worked fine to keep the temperature comfortable for us. The clothes washer worked great, and the drying rack was perfect.
