Surf Shack - Steps to the beach!

Our 1200sq ft beach house is located DIRECTLY across the street from the gulf and conveniently has a beach access just steps from the property. The bohemian interior is perfect for comfort and relaxation. There’s a large fenced in backyard with an outdoor shower to rinse off the salt & sand, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and a covered patio to enjoy meals!

he living space has a Roku TV and DVD player. Three bedrooms come off of the living area; Master- King bed with private bath, Guest room 1- Double bed, Guest room 2- double bed bunks. At the front of the house is a 'sunroom' with a second double bed bunk. This room is also perfect to lounge and watch the sunset. For indoor activities our guests are supplied with, WIFI, a variety of movies, board games and puzzles. Take the fun outdoors and enjoy, corn hole, grilling under the covered patio, sunbathing in the backyard or sitting around the fire pit.

You will have full access to the entire home. There is enough space in the driveway to accommodate 4 vehicles.

A $500 refundable security deposit is required, or you may choose to purchase the $55 damage insurance instead

Good location, awful home.

Long and honest review. Renters, beware. Go ahead and save yourselves the headache and spend a little more money for a home elsewhere on the street. Upon check-in, we found several, probably 15, dead roaches in the sunroom. If housekeeping had been there that morning to clean, the roaches would not have been there. They looked very dead and old. That room lives up to the name SUNroom. It was so hot in there even with the wall ac unit on. The only good purpose that room held was to store all of our beach gear. Which leads me to my biggest point of the whole house. DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS OUTSIDE, IN THE FRONT OR BACKYARD. LOCK YOUR CARS. Heck, buy a portable camera or two to set up. Our first night we had an $800 electric scooter stolen from the “gated” back yard. This was our personal scooter we were excited to use during our WEEK long stay. The theft on the first night set the tone for the week. We were all on edge and scared, especially because we had two toddlers and a baby with us. We filed a police report and the officers dispatched were very nice, but of course we knew we weren’t finding our scooter. There are no deadbolts on the exterior doors which is very concerning especially traveling with children. The entire back wooden deck is rotting away. Watch your step under the shower because you will tear your foot up on a screw. The entire backyard was overdue for a cut and maintenance. There is no gas grill, only charcoal which was very disappointing.

The location of the property could not have been better! We did have power issues (flickering) throughout the week with parts of the house (some lights & cooling) going off twice for a time. Also, the water bugs/roaches on the back porch area (up to 3" long) largest I have ever seen. The shower area outside was great but we did have a couple issues with the screws in the boards cutting feet (first aid) before we seen them. The rental information including the Sharky's card was not in the room when we arrived. When we went to Sharky's they acted like we were trying to do something wrong even after I pulled it up on my phone. We were told they needed the card to do anything, so we just looked stooped :( The furnishing (front room chairs) in the rental were very uncomfortable. One TV for a rental that sleeps 12 is not enough add another one at least. I hope some of the things can be fixed. We had a fantastic time, and I would stay in the area again. The family has already talked about it.
