Fantastic property and location, extremely aggravating property management experience.
The house and location are perfect. Absolutely nothing to complain about on that front. It was clean and tidy, the Watersound community is great. Maybe some wear and tear that you'd expect in a house that's a few years old, but it was totally fine. However, the check-in process was a nightmare. I was standing in the pouring rain late on a Friday night with kids screaming in the car as I tried to figure out what the door code was to get in. Apparently there was one email that provided a link to an ID verification that was sent 5 months earlier that asked for the verification to be completed. Ok, fine, I find the email and do the verification. There isn't great cell phone reception in Watersound, so the internet is being slow, but I finally get it complete. But then no door code comes. I wait about 10 minutes, and nothing is happening. I'm looking at multiple links, refreshing my email - nothing. I find some phone number and get ahold of an after-hours person who explains that nobody is going to manually verify my verification until work on Monday. So I'm thinking that I'm going to have to find lodging at 11:00pm for the three families we have coming in for the trip. The after-hours person tells me that they'll have someone call me back. I wait for another 10 minutes and get a phone call where some new guy finally gets me the door code. The entire ordeal took about 45 minutes.The vehicle pass situation was also very slow to get handled. Other than that, great trip.
