This cabin is 6 miles east of Pagosa Springs on Highway 160 in the San Juan River Resort, mountain side. It has some views through the trees, easy access to the highway, and 18 minutes to Wolf Creek Ski Area. The San Juan River Resort is surrounded by 3 million acres of National Forest.
It is completely furnished with stack-able washer/dryer, stove, oven. microwave, and most of your small appliances. It has a gas log fireplace in the living area, with Satellite TV, VCR, C.D. player with speakers located in the bedrooms, deck and garage and lots of games in the second bedroom.

The Master bedroom has a king bed and a full bath, second bedroom has a king bed. The second bathroom is located downstairs. A maximum of four occupants.

It has a large deck with bird feeders that attract many different birds, including Humming Birds.


Pagosa Springs area: Wolf Creek Ski Area is noted for having the most snow in Colorado and some of the best powder skiing and snowboarding. Ski, snowboard or snowmobile all day, soak sore muscles away in the Springs and then dine in one of our gourmet restaurants in the evening. Summertime offers a different menu of recreational choices as listed above, as well as camping, swimming, bicycling, mountain biking, outdoor dining, art & craft fairs, the Red Ryder Rodeo and Roundup, hot air balloon Colorfest, parades and music & art festivals, to name a few. The climate is “high and dry”...Summertime brings warm, balmy days and crisp cool nights, while the winter treats us to sparking snow and invigorating fresh, clear air. Close by Pagosa Springs are the ancient Chacoan ruins of Chimney Rock, Navajo Lake for boating and water skiing, the town of Durango and the legendary Durango to Silverton Railroad. You might say there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

•••We have recently updated putting in new carpet throughout the house and purchasing a new couch and loveseat as well as a new dining room set.
Just a warning that the drive is steep. So, you may need four wheel drive if you get a big snowstorm. We do have a snow removal company but it may take them a day to clear the drive.

  • We took a 5 day rafting trip down the San Juan. Our second camp site at Hanaker had an amazing hike up the canyon wall to a look out over the river and canyon. Very hot hike, but the views were amazing. If I did this one again, I would probably go in the morning. The raft trip itself is pretty easy, only one Class III rapid. Beautiful home, super clean and perfect location to pagosa springs and wolf creek ski area. Quiet, secluded feeling though easy access to everything. Lots of amenities, comfy bed, and gorgeous views out back with huge windows to let in the sunlight and to enjoy the beautiful tall trees. Host was super helpful and friendly. Don't hesitate to rent this lovely cabin in the woods.

We loved the location of this house, the open floor plan and beautiful windows that let in so much natural light for us to enjoy the forest. It was a quick drive up to Wolf Creek to ski and this also meant we didn't have to deal with the traffic in town. When we went in town to shop and visit the hot springs, it was also a quick easy drive. The neighborhood was great, the home had everything we could want or need and the homeowners were very quick to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this house! The beds were comfortable, the carpet very clean and cozy, the kitchen had all we needed to cook all of our meals in after hitting the grocery store. Thank you for the lovely place for our family to call home during this holiday week.

Comfortable and cozy, homey decor, plenty of room to spread out, great location away from town noise and traffic.Host was immediately avaliable during our stay.Neighborhood was mostly quiet, and we enjoyed mornings on the back deck. No mountain views, but tall pines surround the property. Neighboring houses are very close.Kitchen particularly well stocked.Appliances in good working order.In August, this house gets very hot before noon on sunny days, and doesn't cool off till the sun sets....but this is manageable.

Great Location!

It was the perfect distance to get into Pagosa Springs, 10 minutes from where our friends were camping and on the way to Wolf Creek and beyond for fishing, riding trails, anything we wanted to do. Home was clean and had the most stocked kitchen we’ve ever seen! We would certainly stay again when back in the area!

The Perfect Accommodation

We stayed here during a late season ski trip and it was perfect! With a very reasonable drive to either the mountain side or Pagosa Springs, this cabin could not have been more ideal. Thanks to the Hoyt family for providing such a clean, comforting place to stay!

Good location near Pagosa

The property was as described and in a great location. Close to the Ski area and close to Pagosa Springs. There were a few things not working. The garbage disposal, the couch pullout is broken. Towels were left in the dryer, but we eventually found them. Nothing too major, overall, it was a nice stay in a great location.

Wonderful property for skiing in Wolf Creek

The property is in a great location for a weekend ski trip to Wolf Creek.Place was very clean and the check in/check out process was very easy.The only things to keep in mind is that this place is a little difficult to find in the dark. Recommend checking in during the day. Driveway is also a little steep.
