Gorgeous Home on the Cherwell in Central Oxford

Quiet spot on the Cherwell in Central Oxford. Located 5 minute’s walk from Magdalen Bridge, offering proximity the High Street, shops & excellent bus connections to London & airports.

All three levels have views of the Cherwell River and Angel & Greyhound Meadow. We are not only close to Oxford but also just a few minutes from lovely areas for long walks. The home is recently furnished and painted. All of the appliances are new and in great condition.

We are an academic couple and we split our time between the US (Princeton) and the UK (Oxford). We love the arts, and our home is very tastefully decorated, including with some of David's art.

We are close to the center of town and all colleges and shopping, as well as just a few minutes from lovely areas for long walks like Mesopotamia Walk and South Park.

We furnished and painted the home recently, so all furniture is in great condition. The main appliances have been replaced after we bought the home in 2022: washer, dryer, stove, and refrigerator. We have central heating which works great; plus a wood-burning stove.

The top floor has a double bed, en-suite bathroom with a shower, storage space and a fantastic view.

The middle floor has a small bedroom with a lovely balcony and view, and a bathroom in the hallway with a tub and shower.

The ground floor has a spacious kitchen, cozy living room with a fireplace, and a dining table for 6 or 8 that overlooks the garden with fantastic views. Our patio has an outdoor table with seating for 4 and lovely plants with a view of Angel & Greyhound Meadow. We love gardening and have made the outdoor space utterly charming with plants and flowers.

We love that we are just minutes from St. Clements Street and plenty of shops (groceries, pharmacy, etc.) We are just five minutes walking from Magdalen Bridge/Magdalen College, which is the start of the High Street with all of Oxford’s shops, cafes and colleges. We can walk to various churches in 20 minutes or less.

The buses that go to London (the Oxford Tube) and to the airports stop just one minute from our home. Everyone loves the views of the sunset from the top of the hill at South Park! The lovely Mesopotamia Walk offers a beautiful stroll to the nearby University Parks. We are seeking renters who are responsible and mature and can be trusted to care for our home while we are in the US.

It's a charming flat with plenty of amenities, quite close to Magdalen College and a 20-minute walk to the center of Oxford. South Park, with its beautiful views of Oxford, is nearby. It is well-furnished but not cluttered, with space to work on the ground floor or top floor. Beautiful meadow is visible from all three stories and from the back patio. East Oxford has many fun restaurants, including Italian, Persian, Indian, Chinese, Greek, Spanish-Moroccan; several grocers and a pharmacy are also within an easy walk. Very quiet at night. When we first arrived, the cottage had some plumbing issues, but Margarita and David were extremely responsive and had everything repaired promptly. They have renovated the kitchen and redone the floors.
