Welcome to The Shanty!
We are thrilled to offer you a relaxing stay at our charming property! The apartment is your "home away from home" and is equipped with amenities that make it comfortable and cozy. The property is centrally situated in the quaint town of Osburn, just steps from the "Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes" and a short distance to Hiawatha Bike Trail, Pulaski Trail, the Gondola, Ziplining, ATV and Snowmobile trails, Fishing, Silver Mountain, Lookout Pass, and Silver Rapids Water Park.

Cute Little Home Away From Home

Michele, the property manager was great with her communication. The property was cute, clean, and accommodating. Comfortable bed, and a well stocked kitchen and bathroom.

Great Place and Host!

This place is great! The Shanty is clean, comfortable and convenient. The host was kind and helpful. As a matter of fact, my flight was delayed due to weather and Michelle worked with me on staying an extra night. If your ever in northern Idaho, I highly recommend the Shanty!

Perfect Location

We loved our stay here! Close to Wallace and a store across the street for groceries and drinks. Super clean and having the bed room separate from living room area was a bonus for an early riser.

Hidden Gem

I could sum this up in one word…PERFECTION! I’ve rented numerous places in numerous locations, and this is the BEST of them all. In addition to having everything we needed and more, the location was private, the price was very reasonable, and the cleaning and general fees were reasonable as well. Will ALWAYS seek this place when traveling in this area. Michele, it was a pleasure to meet you; you are providing a wonderful experience!!

Everything we needed and more!

We chose The Shanty in Osburn, Idaho because it is steps away from the Coeur d'Alene Rail-Trail. Bonus - right across the street from a Watson's Market. The kitchen was well stocked, including a fantastic spice rack and a wide selection of sharp knives. I like a firm mattress so the bed was super comfortable. Good closet space and convenient hooks throughout. Friendly neighbours and safe, off-street parking accommodated the two bikes hanging off the back of the car. I-90 Business passes in front of the building, which lowered the location rating to 4 of 5 stars. However, most of the traffic passed during the day when we were out riding the trail, so the noise level at night was not disruptive. Our host anticipated any need we might have and was kind enough to offer us a late check-out. We stayed for 6 nights. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to ride the Coeur d'Alene trail, learn about the mining history of the area, or ski at the nearby ski hill.

Cute place. It is located on the bike path and close enough to Hiawatha trail. Super clean and roomy. They thought of everything a traveler needed but may have forgot. Great grocery across the street. Hope to visit here again.

The Shanty

This property is, by far, one of the best we have stayed at. The Shanty is cozy, comfortable, clean, and it was very conveniently located near the Trail of the CDA. The host was extremely friendly and responded quickly. I highly recommend The Shanty. We will now compare other properties to this gem!

Cute and Cozy

The Shanty was absolutely perfect for us. We were looking for an out-of-the-way ski location, and this little spot was right between Silver Mtn and Lookout Mtn. The house looked exactly like the photos on the posting, and it was very clean - in fact, one of the cleanest properties I've ever rented. It was very nicely decorated, which made it welcoming, warm, and cozy after a (cold!) day in the snow. The kitchen and bath were very well stocked with everything we needed, and there's a nice grocery store right across the street. If you don't want to fix anything, there's a lovely little coffee shack just down the road, and Wallace, which is like 6 minutes away, has really good restaurants. I honestly can't think of anything I would change about this property, and I've already recommended it to my friends and family who live in Idaho in case they are looking for a getaway. Note that the space is small, so I don't think it would work for more than 3-4 people.

Perfect in everyway!

Most comfortable bed ever! Everything you need, easy to find, easy to use, clean, smells nice. Would rave about it to every body i meet but selfishly want to keep it all to myself.

Perfect place!

The shanty is perfect! Fully stocked and very clean. It is in perfect location for biking or walking the trails. Michele has a fantastic place there! We hope to return again sometime soon. The grocery store across the street was a great convenience too.

Shanty Satisfaction

“The Shanty” was perfect. Cute, clean and easy ground level access to our e-bike toting truck. Literally back truck right to the entry door. The privacy fenced and furnished patio was great for early morning coffee. Stein Grocery store across the road with a deli for last minute meals so cooking was optional. Unit conveniences were provided. The smooth surfaced CDA bike trail access was less than a mile away. A friendly neighbor interested in biking provided best trail area tips. Would stay at “The Shanty” again.

Great stay in a beautiful area

Clean, nicely updated, comfortable bed, all the basics (and some very nice treats as a bonus!) in the kitchen. Perfect size for two people. Across the street from a good grocery store. Several great hikes in the area. An excellent choice if you want to see Wallace but don't want to pay to stay in Wallace - less than 10 minutes away. We were very happy with our stay!

Great stay!

The apartment was great. It was very clean, nicely decorating, and had a great kitchen. It was super close to the Trail of Coeur d’Alenes which was the reason for our visit. Easily recommend it to others.

Clean and Modern

We really enjoyed our stay here! The home is newly renovated, decorated comfortably, and very clean. Check in and out was a breeze, and the property host is very communicative. It is located right across from the local grocery store, which is convenient. It’s also less than 4 miles from Wallace via a side road, and the paved trail of the Coeur d’Alenes is just a block away for biking or walking.

Great ski get away place!

Great place! Very cute and functional layout. Kitchen was well stocked, and the host was very responsive. Grocery store right across the street for easy meals. Close to both the ski hills in the area! Perfect getaway!
