The estate is located between Lazio, Tuscany, and Umbria, in the heart of unspoiled countryside in one of Italy’s least populated areas, halfway between Rome and Siena, just 9 km from Lake Bolsena—Europe’s largest volcanic lake—and 35 km from Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio. A region where nature remains unspoiled and the landscape is ideal for magical excursions among castles, ancient Renaissance palaces, charming villages perched on rugged cliffs, and Etruscan necropolises hidden in the countryside. The agriturismo, dominated by a 19th-century castle—which remains the residence of the family that built it—offers accommodations in the village below. Accommodations are available in 8 self-catering apartments or 14 rooms, all furnished with great charm, for a total of 42 beds. Guests of the agriturismo have free access to Wi-Fi at the reception desk and in the castle’s breakfast room, shared SKY TV service in the tavern, two swimming pools (one for children—during the summer), a soccer field, table tennis, billiards, and foosball. Additional on-site amenities include a spa with a massage area, a tennis court, regular and electric bicycles, and, of course, the opportunity to take riding lessons and go on horseback excursions, thanks to the internationally renowned equestrian club on the premises, which has over 13 years of experience. There are numerous activities to enjoy on-site, such as visiting the Sorano Thermal Baths and Spa (18 km), with which we have a partnership, while nature walks can be organized upon request, you can rent a boat (Lake Bolsena), and play golf at the Acquapendente Golf Club (14 km). Furthermore, the castle is a perfect venue for weddings, events, and off-the-beaten-path gatherings. <br><br><br>The Marta cottage is part of a separate structure just 80 meters from the main building; it was once a barn with an attached pigsty. The cottage features a spacious wooden patio, a large private garden dominated by a centuries-old oak tree, and a swimming pool shared with guests staying in the other apartment of the farmhouse. “Marta” consists of: a cozy living room, two bedrooms each with its own bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher), and a shared washing machine.
