Mar i Terra, the home of your vacation!

Mar i Terra is a typical house of the region completely renovated in 2017. It is located in a quiet street 5 minutes from the historic center of Olhão, an old fishing town where you will find fresh fish every morning (except Monday) in the market as well as fruit and vegetables.
The house consists of two floors. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area where you can have a good time, television with French channels, wifi, two bedrooms, bathroom with shower tray and a terrace. On the ground floor it is a toilet area with wc and sink. The house is fully equipped and air conditioned.
If you want to taste the gastronomy of the Algarve you can do so in the many restaurants that are found along the main avenue.
Mar i Terra is a 10 minute walk from the boats which will take you to the sublime beaches of the islands of Armona, Culatra and Farol.

What a lovely place. So thoughtfully decorated. A short walk to restaurants and we were able to find parking very close by. There was an issue with the internet box....but our host was right on it and had a technician come and fix it. We appreciated it as we loved to watch some of the Olympics at night!

Great house. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Extremely well equipped in the kitchen and the house in general. Everything has been thought of from needle and cotton, iron, umbrella, sun hat, pen ,& paper, shopping trolley etc. Communication with the host was super. Easy walk to supermarkets, bars, restaurants and the sea. We loved our time there. Walking distance from train, which was on time, clean and very good value. Highly recommend.

My stay in Olhao

The owner was very responsive and helpful but the property manager had difficulty with understanding English. The property itself is modern, clean and tastefully decorated. All the appliances work and the manuals are at hand. The property is about a 10 minute walk from the marina and many restaurants. I recommend this property.

La maison de vos vacances pour 4 personnes à Olhão !

Maison de ville très propre et avec tout le nécessaire. Située dans un secteur populaire et calme avec cafétéria et petits bistrots. Facilité pour garer la voiture à proximité. Proche des grands magasins et centres commerciaux. Dix minutes à pieds de la marina, de la zone piétonne avec boutiques et restaurants, du marché aux poissons et du marché classique.

La location rêvée

Pendant de nombreuses semaines on a préparé notre voyage en Algarve et cela fût déjà un grand plaisir. Trouver la maison de Sidonie a permis de rendre ce séjour fabuleux. Les photos donnent déjà envie, en vrai c'est encore mieux. Très propre, cela sent très bon;il ne manque rien. C est très bien rénové et très bien décoré. La terrasse est géniale et la musique qui sort des murs est extra... Vous comprendrez en louant la maison de Sidonie ! Et en plus on peut se garer facilement. Les échanges ont été parfaits, Sidonie est très gentille et très attachée à ce que le séjour se passe au mieux. Olhao et l Algarve sont une très belle découverte. Nous avons beaucoup, beaucoup aimé !! Vous pouvez louer les yeux fermés.

très belle location

bel appartement ,bien aménagé,très propre avec des équipements de bonne qualité.le linge de maison ainsi que les draps et serviettes sont fournis c'est très appréciable. la propriétaire est de bon conseil,réactive à nos demandes et qui parle très bien français.merci à elle. je conseille vivement cette location qui vaut une location de haut standing.

Magnifique

Nous avons passé un séjour dans cette maison magnifique. La maison est dotée de prestations de très hautes qualités. Rien ne manque même la télévision française. L’emplacement est près du port et de son marché, ainsi que du centre commercial d’auchan. Tout est possible à pied. Nous avons toujours trouvé un emplacement pour garer la voiture. Le calme est là même en plein centre d’olhão. Nous recommandons ce logement à 200%!!!!! Sandrine et Olivier

Dieses Haus ist ein Schmuckkästchen

Das Haus ist liebevoll und mit allen Annehmlichkeiten die ein schönes Wohnen ermöglichen ausgestattet. Wir haben uns direkt nach dem Betreten wie zu Hause gefühlt. Selbst für die erste Verpflegung war liebevoll vorgesorgt. Die kleine Dachterrasse läd zum gemütlichen Aufenthalt und Sonne tanken ein. Alles in allem können wir dieses Haus jederzeit weiterempfehlen

The Pleasures of Olhao

Mar I Terra is a great place for exploring the pleasures of Olhao, a hard working but laid back city that's spared many of the tourist pressures of more well known cities in the Algarve. Among its pleasures are the many neighborhood cafes, populated by local residents, some from Africa or Brazil, who are always happy to display the Portuguese arts of friendliness and conversation. Olhao is proud of its evolution from a fishing village dependency of Faro to an independent city, which it displays on a series of posters in a downtown plaza. Mar I Terra is comfortable, well-equipped, and in a quiet neighborhood. Parking is not a problem; it is always available on the street in front of Mar I Terra and in the adjacent alley. The famous mercado is a ten minute walk away and provides all the fresh food one could want. Inexpensive tours of the islands are available near the mercado. We took the one to Armona Island with Manuel, the owner of one of the operations, who grew up in the islands and knows everything about the aquaculture of the area. It wasn't anything fancy -- a bench on an open boat powered by a 75 hp Evinrude -- but it was an education in the history and economy of Olhao. Olhao is a good choice if you want to avoid the touristic centers of the western Algarve, and Mar i Terra is a great place for exploration of the town.

Très belle maison conforme à nos attentes, rien ne manque pour passer un bon séjour même le soleil était au rendez-vous,nous étions à 10 minutes à pied du marché et du centre historique . A good place to stay in Olhao - convenient for touring the Algarve

February 14 – March 13, 2019 The house is conveniently located, walking distance from the rail station, bus depot, supermarkets, restaurants and the waterfront. It seems to be a recent rebuild using high end materials and is completely equipped with the latest appliances. The owner kindly left the appliance instruction manuals (mostly in French) which we found necessary. Parking in the vicinity is at a premium and so we did not rent a car except for a three day excursion to Evora and Sagres towards the end of our stay. We stayed for a month and found, that for us, it was just too long to spend in a house spread over three floors. The kitchen and living/dining room are on the main floor but the lovely terrace is on the third so if you wanted to have a meal or even drinks on the terrace you had to maneuver trays up and down circular stairs. The living/dining room is small. As the house faces north, the sitting area is gloomy and the only lighting are wall sconces with harsh white L.E.D. lighting.

The house was very conveniently located off a main street in Olhao about 10min walk from the harbor. The house itself is brand new and all the fixtures and equipment is also new. We had a very restful vacation and went on day trips to Tavira, Faro, Rio de Formosa, Huelva etc. The owner was very prompt to answer our concerns on how to use some of the very modern equipment that we are not accustomed to use. Overall, one of the best VRBO properties we have rented.

Prestation Conforma et Parfaite

Après avoir quitté Paris sous une pluie battante, nous arrivons à Faro sous un grand soleil avec un 18 ° d'accueil. 30 mns plus tard nous entrons dans la charmante demeure de Sidonie, tout est nickel, elle nous a même prévu une collation d'accueil (vin blanc d'Algarve et délicieux biscuits secs). La maison est vraiment bien équipée, nous n'avons manqué de rien, il y a même un petit barbecue électrique installé dans la courette, sur lequel nous avons cuisiné poissons et Gambas (très frais et bon marché au Portugal). La région est très jolie, bref un super séjour ! Grands remerciements à Sidonie Martine et Marc

We had a wonderful week at Mar i Terra. Clean, efficient, comfortable, and within walking distance of downtown markets, restaurants, and boat tours. A great place to call home for a week+ to explore the Algarve region. Even a day trip to Selville is easily doable! Kitchen is well equipped to even make your own meal with fresh fish and produce from the markets. Nearby pastry shop for bread and delectable treats. Must get pasteis de nata... delicious!

Maison très agréable et d une propreté exemplaire

Un grand merci à Sidonie et son mari, qui nous ont concocté un logement parfait pour profiter de nos vacances. Ils sont accueillants,prévenants, ils nous ont donné des conseils de visites, restaurants... nous n avons pas été déçus . Le regret ne pas avoir tout fait mais il faut prendre le temps d apprécier et en laisser pour une prochaine fois. Il y a une petite terrasse particulièrement agréable mais il faut monter les étages avec son repas pour en profiter (il fallait bien trouver quelque chose à dire , il faudrait inventer une astuce pour monter les plats! ) . Olhao est une jolie ville et tout est accessible à pieds. Bref une adresse à retenir pour une prochaine visite dans cette belle région.

magnifiques vacances au portugal. notre maison a olhao était superbe . il n'y manquait absolument rien . très belle décoration . nous pouvions joindre les propriétaires à tous moments . si on n' y retourne on reprendra la meme location . olhao est très agréable à tous moments de la journée . merçi encore aux propriétaires .
