"We had a lovely 2 night stay at Sir Alfred Munnings Hotel. A gem of a place with top notch care from the propriator Mark who was on hand to check us in. Breakfasts were wonderful and the dinner meal we had in the pub was tasty and generous in portions."

"The property was very dated, with a need of a deep clean and decor update. Carpets were stained and our particular room had a unpleasent smell. Overall the property has seen better days, I guess this is reflected in a lower than average room price for the area. Staff however were very friendly and although we did not eat a main meal, the portions looked generous and other guests appeared content. "Lovely old building and themed rooms. We were allocated the China room as we told the hotel ahead of time we were celebrating our Sapphire wedding anniversary so it was lovely that it was all blue. My only criticism was that in hindsight, it was a very expensive hotel with no reception, no spa (we booked into the orange grove for treatments but assumed it was a proper spa with swimming pool only to find it was just rooms adjacent to the hotel.) £210 per night was a tad over the top just for a...

"Great place to stay for Forest Live. Hotel is lovely, warm and welcoming. It was a warm day so quite hot inside but we spent time outside in the huge gardens, the bar was open and we sat next to the river. Breakfast was superb, fresh fruit and proper butchers sausages!
