This Art Deco period home was recently updated, keeping the charm and character original to the property. Enjoy relaxing in this light filled home, with east, south, and west-facing windows. Spacious, eat-in, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, beautiful stone countertops, and detailed Art Deco period details and backsplash. The bathroom features include large sit-in shower with twin rain shower heads and period tile work. Large master bedroom with king bed, high-boy dresser, and walk-in closet. Central AC for cooling during the warm summer months. Brand new private Whirlpool front loader washer and dryer onsite. Enjoy dining outdoors in private patio space with bistro set and colorful bougainvillea. Direct TV Sunday Ticket access with WiFi and print/copy/scan onsite.

    Immediate access to BART or take a short ferry ride to San Francisco. Within a few miles to Oakland's Oracle Arena and Coliseum, downtown Oakland, and Berkeley. Northern California's wine country, including Napa and Sonoma, is 45 minutes to an hour north of Alameda. Enjoy the outdoors in the Sierra Nevada mountain range just three hours inland of the East Bay, featuring famous Lake Tahoe ski resorts with hiking and golfing during the summer months. Access to Bay Area hiking, Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, and Marin County. To the south of Alameda is Silicon Valley and Santa Cruz.

We will be back.

This was our second stay at Margaret's charming place and it was just how we remembered it, Perfect! Great location, easy parking and fun location. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and charming getaway. We have family in Alameda and hope to stay there again.

Delightful spot for two

Super clean, well-laid out space that’s only a short walk to Park for food and shops. The kitchen and bath stand out as especially nice and functional.

Alameda rules

We have been to the Bay Area many times, but this is the first time we stayed in Alameda. The accommodations were perfect, as was the neighborhood. We had a very good stay at Margaret and Paul‘s. We recommended this property wholeheartedly.

Home away from home

Meticulously clean, perfectly located, cozy cottage

From the moment I checked in to the moment I left, I felt like I was in my home away from home. The home was meticulously clean, cozy, perfectly located, and had all of the necessities including toiletries and kitchen needs you could possibly need for a week-long stay. The only challenge was street parking.

We Lived the Bee House!

This is the most charming abode. It’s surprisingly spacious inside! The bathroom is wonderful, as is the kitchen. Super comfy bed, and you can’t beat the location! We had zero trouble parking in the street just steps from the front door, and could walk to coffee shops, restaurants, the movie theater…And the central AC is a major benefit! Considering the location next to a busy street, we were amazed at how quiet it was inside. We really loved this little gem, and will definitely be back!

Great stay

We had a wonderful time in Alameda visiting our daughter and sightseeing in the Bay area. We had everything we needed and more. It was very comfortable and convenient to walk to restaurants in Alameda. The owners were very accommodating. Highly recommend!

The *ideal* VRBO property/host

When I travel to the Bay Area, this is where I stay. The unit is very clean and well cared for, with everything you need for a short- or long-duration stay. Excellent, friendly hosts and a great location (short walk to Santa Clara Ave and Park Street, 1.5 blocks to bus with easy access to the Fruitvale BART station). I am happy to be a return guest at this wonderful property.

Centrally located and cute as a button

Stayed here for 3 nights. Property is clean and nicely decorated. If you are visiting Alameda (or the East Bay) and need a nice homebase for 2 adults this place is worth checking out. Communication was clear and responsive. I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to Alameda.

The propert was clean and cozy and recently updated qith modern amenities. The location was perfect, and I was able to walk to Park street every evening after work. Margaret was very communicative and accomodating. I'll definitely be booking this place again for my next work or leisure trip to Alameda!

One of the best!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 days and absolutely loved this house, location, and beauty! The bed is so comfortable we almost didn't get out of bed until late in the afternoon! The beautiful garden and friendly honey bees make this location an Oasis! Will be back soon!

Perfect spot for our New Year family visit

Very nice 1 BR in convenient Alameda location, with plenty of room for a couple. Everything was very clean and kitchen and bath had been recently updated. Communication with owner was easy and efficient. Even though the unit fronts onto a fairly busy street, it is very quiet inside.

Wonderful in EVERY Way

Perfect location! Easy access to the shops and restaurants and the ferry to San Francisco. Every amenity has been thoughtfully arranged…bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and laundry! Nothing has been left to chance. We have stayed in San Francisco and Sausalito many times in the past. This is a refreshing change! Loved the vibe, people and culture!

Immaculate apartment!

This bright, clean and well decorated apartment is in a wonderful location, just blocks from fabulous bars and restaurants. It was perfect for my self and two daughters. The beautiful garden surrounding the rental is a huge bonus. Be ready for a lengthy rental agreement. Well worth it though.
