Golden Trout Retreat

Golden Trout Retreat is a 4-bedroom, 3-bath log-style home that has it all. Totally private, you'll have everything you need for a comfortable stay, sleeps 10 comfortably. A fully equipped kitchen and dining area that seats 8.
Dogs are allowed at this property for an additional fee of $50 per pet, per day.

The living room opens into the dining and kitchen area, which is great for family gatherings. The dining area opens out to an outdoor covered patio, with a BBQ and picnic table. One bedroom has a Log King-size bed, with a 40-inch smart TV. The second room has a log queen bed with 40 40-inch smart TV. The third bedroom has a full/full bunk bed with a pullout twin trundle and a 32 smart TV. For your comfort and safety, please only one adult or two children on the top bunk.
Relax, snuggle up by the propane fireplace, and enjoy a movie on the 60' LED smart TV with surround sound. The kids will enjoy playing the many games provided. Just a short walk to the Lewis Creek private park where you can picnic or wade in the cool water.
The lower floor is complete with a master bedroom with a queen bed and an attached bathroom. There is a game room with an air hockey table and a foosball table, and a sofa bed. Watch the game on the 60" TV complete with surround sound. Please note *** Dogs are not allowed in the downstairs area due to the new carpet being installed. Dogs are welcome on the upper floor.

Excellent, relaxing, and peaceful place. Very clean. Recommended for those looking to escape the noise. The only issues are the jacuzzi doesn't heat up and the fireplace doesn't work, but otherwise everything is fine. Highly recommended. Everything close to the restaurants

we loved everything about this place. the host was very responsive and flexible and accomondations were spatious, warm and clean. we loved th hot tub and star gazing from it. access to yosemite was great - less than 1 hour straight drive.

Perfect get away!

This is a great place to stay with friends! Huge backyard with grill and hot tube. The game room is so cool too! Lots of places to drive around and explore the area!

A MUST VISIT Stay!

This property really did make our stay a super enjoyable one! There was ample space, the property was very clean and well maintained. The kids absolutely loved playing tetherball, the foosball table and the air hockey table! The scenery was gorgeous and it’s just a short walk to a beautiful creek and a short drive to Yosemite National Park! We will definitely be back again.

Great for Yosemite

Two families stayed here as a base for exploring Yosemite. Only 25 minutes to entry gate which is great but 1h20m to get into village. Lots of sleeping room and bathrooms which was great for our group. Hot tub was a great plus after lots of hiking. All things worked great for us. Loved having laundry available. Only complaint is we found the extra blanket stuffed in a closet (not folded) and there was an unidentified stain on it.

Yosemite Visit

Overall the place was fine. Nothing fancy but very close to the south entrance to Yosemite which was nice. We did experience a pretty large leak with the dishwasher which caused us to use several towels to wipe up the water in the morning. There was also a smaller leak from the freezer that caused a minor mess. On top of this the lock code wasn’t working so after our initial entry we were unable to lock the door from the outside since we were unable to reset the code. Hot tub was a nice perk for the kids and plenty of space for two families totaling 10 in all.

Nice location - Good for Dog Families

Spacious house that was probably lovely 30 years ago. Kitchen appliances need replacement. Some mattresses uncomfortable. Needs attention to details to return to its great potential. Lots of space for parking. Great location.

Yosemite Trip

We enjoyed our stay, the house provided everything we needed. We had four couples one 12 year old and an infant and there was plenty of room for all of us! The house is set up so we each had our own space but yet we're able to enjoy watching football together having our meals together and spending quality time. We made two trips to visit the various sites in Yosemite Valley and the location of the house was perfect! Highly recommend.

New Years at The Golden Trout Retreat

Our family and our dog had a very enjoyable stay at the Golden Trout Retreat over the New Years holiday. The house has all the necessary accommodations and was very comfortable for our family of 10. The 3 bathrooms was a big plus. The fenced in backyard made it easy when the dog needed out. We were able to enjoy the game room, jacuzzi, and bbq. Very nice house and we would recommends this place for larger families.

Perfect retreat for a yosemite getaway

My friends and I stayed at the golden trout for our friend's wedding that was in Tenaya Lodge just outside the gate to yosemite. The location was great for the wedding, just a short 20-30 minute drive to the entrance of yosemite, and very close to the downtown area of Oakhurst for groceries and necessities. There were 8 of us in the house with plenty of room to spare. The house was very clean and came with everything you need in the kitchen, extra blankets and pillows, towels for the bathroom and for the hot tub, and even detergent for laundry. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying here for a group of people or even with kids as there was a game room as well.

Great House! Great Location!

Our stay in the Oakhurst #582563 home was delightful. Our hiking team of nine found it to be very comfortable and convenient, close to food shopping and other offerings in the area. It had plenty of space for all of us to gather together for meals and movie watching while still allowing for privacy when needed. The hot tub was appreciated and the barbecue grill was used on more than one occasion. The kitchen was large enough for multiple cooks at one time so getting ready and out the door in the morning was never an issue. All of us were especially pleased with the forceful water flow and never ending hot water in all the showers. The furnishings were modern and well maintained and we wouldn’t hesitate to rebook this exact same house if we ever return to the area.

Clean and comfortable home.

We enjoy the house clean and enough space for my family. Wifi only work on 5 phones and TV in the living room was the only one with netfix :( the ones in the bedrooms didn't work. Also we had two propane tanks for the grill but both were empty. We had to make the burgers inside the house. Still with this issues we did had a good time.

Wonderful and relaxing space for a getaway

I scheduled a staff retreat the last two years in a row at this house, and it's provided a perfect getaway. The house is clean and well-stocked, the beds comfortable, and the hot tub is a great addition. I highly recommend it!

Great cabin in a good location. Not too far from Oakhurst and there is a park walking distance from the cabin. All the rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay at this cabin again.

Comfy house in great location!

Our group really enjoyed our stay. House was clean & the memory foam beds were very comfortable! Jacuzzi was nice after hiking. Depending on the group, good to know that 2 of the 3 bathrooms are ONLY accessible by going thru a bedroom. Kitchen had enough dishes/utensils/glassware for 8 people so we needed to wash prior to the next meal. Guests need to bring their own foil/wrap/Ziplock bags/napkins as the house has none. Fridge is completely empty so bring your own condiments. House has WiFi that worked well. Nice creek nearby was fun to explore. We loved how close the house was to Bass Lake & rented a boat one afternoon. Also loved hiking the Willow Creek trail which was nearby and lovely! We would definitely rent this home again, comfy and a good value.

Great house and great location!!

This house worked out great for our family. The location was perfect. Yosemite was only about 25 minutes away from the South Gate and Bass Lake about 10 minutes. The house was clean and provided most of the necessary items in the home. The kids loved the ping pong table, fooseball table, X-box and games provided. They also enjoyed the hot tub and tether ball in the back yard. Fishing poles were also provided and we used them at Bass Lake. We wish we knew there was a grocery plaza only about 4 miles away so we wouldn't have brought so much food in our coolers. Our fault for not looking. There are also many restaurants close by if you choose to eat out. Very convenient. It was a very hot weekend during our stay and this house had AC, which made our stay very comfortable. We can't think of anything negative to say about this house. We would definitely stay here again or at another Scenic Wonders property. The only reason for my 4 stars was that the pull out sofa in the game room down stairs had some food like chips stuck in around the mattress and sheets, so it looks like they may have forgotten to change the sheets and clean this bed?? Otherwise, this 4 bedroom, 3 bath was perfect for 4 families (we had 12 total in our party-6 adults and 6 kids). We had the kids bring their sleeping bags and they all enjoyed sleeping together in the game room downstairs. We just wish it wasn't so hot the weekend we came (90+ weather) otherwise we would have BBQ'd and enjoyed the outside tables in the back. Thank you Scenic Wonders for providing a great and clean place to stay!!
