SANDY TAILS - Oak Island, NC

Welcome to our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a fenced in back yard, rocking chair front porch, and screened side porch, located with ample room for onsite parking. Clean, piling island home is located is walking and biking distance to the beach. Only 5 blocks from Davis Canal public dock. Hot/cold outdoor shower and washer/dryer available for guests.

Bring your own boat, optional boat dock available for rent within walking distance of home. Deep water on canal for only $25 per night.

Our home currently has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms and a hot/cold outdoor shower. Master bedroom has a king bed. Bedroom #2 has two twin beds. Bedroom #3 has a queen bed. All living area is on the 2nd floor; downstairs storage room is used for owner storage. The house is on pilings and located in the wooded section of the island.

This home has an open floor plan between the living room and kitchen. The living room has two sofas, ceiling fan and end tables. A large flat screen TV & high speed internet with Wi-Fi is available for your use.

The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer/ice maker, dishwasher, regular coffee maker, stove/oven, microwave, blender, coffee cups, glass wear, silver wear, wine glasses and all other standard necessities for the kitchen and more.

Check-In is 4:00pm EST and Check-out is 10:00am EST

If you would like to bring your well-behaved dog, please message me BEFORE making a booking. Dogs are permitted only with prior approval; $75 non-refundable pet fee (2 dogs maximum; no cats or other pets accepted).

Good Socializing Area

The property was just as listed. The 2 couches were great for visiting friends and TV watching. It had all the kitchen utensils we needed and was a clean property with comfortable beds.

You get what you pay for

Check in was very detailed. We had no problems getting into thr property at all. Inside the house we noticed was pretty dirty and all tvs are VERY dated and dont have USB ports to plug in your own apple tv or roku. Any "supplies" at the house (ie toilet paper) were minimal and lower quality than the public schools. The living area is cluttered with old mismatched uncomfortable furniture. We only used the master bedroom and bathroom. I went to use a towel and found 2 towels under the sink, both were folded byt upon opening the towel it was clear that it hadnt been laundered, it was literally crusty and had visible dirty spots. The dishwasher was also dirty with crumbs and streaks of spilled food. We didnt use the bedding so i cant speak to that. The checkout list was very long and tedious considering the condition we found it in, we did however leave it better than we found it.

Our first trip to Oak Island! Sandy Tails was perfect for our family. Spacious, clean and pet friendly. Adam was very responsive and provided clear and easy check-in and check-out instructions. We highly recommend!

Cute beach cottage

Well appointed cute beach cottage in quiet neighborhood 1.2 miles from the beach. Home was very clean and we cooked meals there daily during our stay. The owner was very responsive to our questions. Would highly recommend Sandy Tails, backyard is perfect for your furry kids and lots of trails to hike. Very close to the intercoastal waterway and bike and golf cart rentals easy as well. Highly recommend.

Halloween Weekend with Family

Adam was very easy to work with and very accommodating. The house had plenty of room and was very clean. The fenced in back yard is a plus, and even though we didn’t get to enjoy it the screened in porch was a very nice touch as well. The only thing I would have changed was the TV service, it would have been nice to have cable service. We stream our service at home but I didn’t feel comfortable entering in my information to be able to use the streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video etc. We enjoyed our Halloween weekend with family.

Easter Weekend Getaway

Loved our stay at Sandy Tails! Our first visit to Oak Island and we'll be back!! House was everything we expected and more and Adam was excellent to deal with.

Stay in Oak Island in winter.

This property has all new and up to date appliances. Furniture and decorations are new and very tasteful. The place just feels brand new and modern. Had one issue with a tripped breaker and owner came right over before 8 am and fixed the problem and was very pleasant and apologetic. He actually thanked us for calling him. Could not have been more pleased with our visit!

Great place to stay with pets!

We loved our stay at oak island. After some initial confusion over having to pay a linen fee, and a higher than expected pet fee, the owner realized the mistake and resolved the situation for us. Our stay here was great, and it was a really good place to stay with our dog. We'll definitely keep this property in mind for our next trip to Oak Island!
