  • This unique oceanfront vacation home in Oak Island is ready for your beach getaway. When you’re not just outside Summer Salt’s backdoor taking in the sun and surf, the open floor plan of the house is great for family time!

    Summer Salt has 5 bedrooms and sleeps 11. The main floor includes 2 bedrooms, a full bath, a deck off the dining area on the street side, and a large oceanfront deck. The upper floor has 3 more bedrooms, a full bath, and an oceanfront balcony off the upstairs primary bedroom. On the ground floor, there's an additional shower in the laundry room that is equipped with a full-size washer and dryer.

    Enjoy your front row seats to sunrises and sunsets from the spacious oceanfront deck! The deck offers rocking chairs, chaise loungers, and a picnic table.

    The Town of Oak Island has invested in one of its biggest beach nourishment projects in decades, bringing fresh sand and a wider beach to the island. The work was just completed this spring before sea turtle nesting. This project greatly enhances beach space and shoreline protection for all beach lovers.

    Summer Salt is conveniently located on the beautiful west end of Oak Island and is just minutes from the mainland and 3 grocery stores – Publix, Lowes, and Food Lion. When you’re not relaxing and swimming at the beach, there’s so much more to do during your visit!

Great location! Steps to the beach, well stocked with all the items you’d need for a stay. Hosts were awesome! Beds and furniture were very comfy.

Summer Salt was wonderful! Walking directly onto the beach was amazing. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked for my professional chef brother. I would definitely stay here again!

Location was great and right on the beach as advertised. Nice quiet area with private beach access. Shallow and relatively calm waves. Great for kids. House was in nice condition. Spiral staircase upstairs and downstairs was a bit cumbersome but we made the best of it. Parking under house and in front of house was plenty of room for us. We had a fun family birthday celebration

The house was amazing! The best part was how communicative the hosts were! Anytime I had a question or needed help they responded right away, and they even just checked in on us throughout our stay. The walk to the beach was the easiest and shortest of ANY beach front property we've ever stayed at!! The only thing I'll say is that if you have older folks or people with mobility issues, check the room layouts because the spiral staircase is DIFFICULT to maneuver. You can access the laundry room from the outside stairs but to get to the 3 bedrooms upstairs the spiral staircase is the only option. Just something to be aware of!

The house is in a great location, private access to beach was a definite perk. The house is very clean and the kitchen well stocked. The hosts were very attentive and responded to all emails quickly. Only slight issue for my group of 65 year old women was the spiral staircase.

2024 Cunningham Family Vacation

We loved the week. Everything was perfect! The house was well stocked and very roomy for our family. We loved the porch and how close we were to the beach! We will definitely be back! The owners were very easy to reach with all my questions!

Beach heaven!

My family loved their stay at “Summer Salt”! We loved being SO close to the beach. Even my elderly father was able to make it to the water to sit and cool his feet. The stairs to the top level are a little tricky but didn’t bother us. Haag and sons fish market is great and we really enjoyed taking the Fisher island ferry for a day trip to the aquarium and into Wilmington.

Super responsive hosts!

Responsive hosts when we had questions. We had a minor faucet issue and the hosts immediately called in a great handyman to take care of the issue. This is a well cared for property in a perfectly glorious spot of Oak Island! I loved the stocked kitchen, spacious bedrooms and light-filled living room /main room.

October 2025…Just as beautiful in the fall. The weather was perfect ranging from 75 to 70. It was my mom‘s 81st birthday. This was the first time we all vacation together. The host responded timely to our questions. The beachfront house was lovely inside and out. The beach views were beyond our expectation. The beds were very comfortable. It was sad to say goodbye. From this, we promise to do something once a year together. Thank you Summer Salt!!!
