Second Chances: Short distance to the surf!

Our getaway "Second Chances" is yours to enjoy! This is a fun place to soak up the sun, take in the ocean breeze and enjoy all that Oak Island has to offer. This home was moved from Caswell Beach in 2016 (just up the road on the same island). It is the result of blood, sweat, grace, divine intervention along with a lot of luck! We want you to enjoy what we have worked hard to restore. This has been a labor of love for our family. Destined to be torn down due to the value of the land, we were able to connect with the previous owner, house movers, and some wonderful contractors (too may people to thank) that helped us assemble this home in the heart of Oak Island. Now this house has a second chance at bringing folks the joy that only a beach house can accomplish. Oak Island, meanwhile, is one of the few South facing islands so you can see the sun rise and set from the beach! The Oak Island pier is not far and free to the public for walking (pay to fish). Surf, fish, sun bathe, or just sit in sand and take in the refreshing feel that can only be obtained with that ocean air! While you will likely be out and about at the beach we hope you will also enjoy our house. You can even see the ocean...really tiny from the end of the driveway LOL! (not an ocean view house) The home offers many amenities including...

House was as described. Beds comfortable, clean, kitchen had all we needed, though we did not cook. Location was great. Walked to the beach and to a couple of restaurants. Enjoy Ruby’s for breakfast and Koko Cabana for Dinner. Shopped in Southport and had A Slice of Haven for lunch (delicious). Host was easy to contact and responded quickly. We did not have any problems finding the property, accessing it, or with anything during our stay.

Relaxing Getaway

The house was the perfect location for us. We walked to the beach as a family. We were also able to walk to our favorite seafood store as well as some old favorite restaurants in town. The home was well stocked with equipment for cooking and a few surprise beach toys we didn’t expect. The kids enjoyed the game cabinet and especially loved the dvd collection! We watched more DVDs than streaming movies for a vintage good time:-)One thing I personally loved about the property was the artwork. It may seem minor but we love art; the owners have some great taste and we loved seeing all the lovely pieces on the walls. Added a little something special.Owners were responsive and check-in was easy. Lockbox came in handy once when the door was finicky but we only needed that once.

Second Chances OKI beach house

Our first time staying at this house and we enjoyed every bit of it! The house is a short walk to the beach, close to several of our favorite restaurants, and even in a great neighborhood. Our kids made friends over the week being here which made it even more memorable! The owners were very responsive, friendly, and helpful with any and every question we had. A great place to stay. We will be booking again!

Always looks out for us

This is our third time staying at this property. The host has always looked out for us in case of storms. There was a tornado warning and they made sure we were safe. They are so helpful with any questions or problems you may have. I had a great time as I always have.

Had such a relaxing first few days. Son & wife and young son came on Wednesday for a 1st trip to beach. They had a great time, weather was perfect. Waves were excellent too. Short walk to beach….stores nearby. House had everything you could ever need.

Beach vacation

Overall very pleased with our stay. The home was clean, spacious and had room for our family. Kitchen was well equipped with most items you'd need. We were very happy with the proximity to the beach having the public beach access point down the street. If I were going to make suggestions, I'd recommend having caffeinated coffee on hand and a beach cart would be super helpful.

Clean and stocked for all your needs!

The house is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. I did not see a single speck of dirt, grime, or mold. It's a small walk to the beach too. I always worry about what a rental will provide and what they won't, but I was pleasantly surprised they had everything we needed. Toilet paper, hand and dish soap, bath towels, pots, pans, baking sheets, plates, bowls, shot glasses, Daiquiri glasses, beer mugs, regular glasses, mugs, tons a silverware, tongs, spatulas, cutting boards, servings spoons, knives, can opener, tin foil, plastic wrap, wipes, available ice, extra blankets, extra pillows, a drying rack for clothes, a surplus of board games, lots of movies, streaming services, and playing cards, just to name a few things. We had a wonderful stay and may come back next year!

Fun in the Sun ☀️

We had a great stay! Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. The owners thought of everything that would be needed (plenty of toilet paper, towels and wash clothes, detergent, hand soap, trash bags, ect). I highly recommend this house to anyone staying in Oak Island.
