  • Esta casa de vacaciones está ubicada en el lado este de Oak Island, en un vecindario tranquilo justo al lado de la calle principal, Oak Island Drive. Prácticamente todos los restaurantes, tiendas especializadas, tiendas y lugares de entretenimiento se encuentran a lo largo de este camino. La playa está a menos de dos millas de distancia.


    Un parque acuático, un parque de patinaje, un campo de golf, un lanzamiento de kayak y canoa, muelle de pesca, campo de fútbol, baloncesto, canchas de kickball y tenis son algunas, pero no todas, las actividades que se encuentran dentro de un radio de ocho millas de esta propiedad. Los eventos especiales durante el verano incluyen películas y conciertos al aire libre y un mercado de agricultores / artesanos todos los sábados. Al otro lado del puente Barbee, aproximadamente a una milla de distancia, se encuentra el antiguo pueblo de pescadores de Southport, con tiendas de antigüedades, una sala de cine y más restaurantes.


    La cocina está completamente equipada y decorada ingeniosamente, al igual que toda la casa, con temas de playa. Las habitaciones para dormir están disponibles en dos camas queen, tres camas individuales y dos juegos de literas individuales en el primer piso. Dos baños y medio sirven al primer piso, adyacente a uno de los cuales está el lavadero. El segundo piso tiene solo el dormitorio king y un baño privado. El salón tiene cenefas, un televisor extra grande y una chimenea de gas. Hay dos reproductores de DVD en el hogar y acceso inalámbrico a Internet. El perro de la familia es bienvenido aquí.


    Una característica adicional importante en esta casa es la sala de juegos al estilo de Florida en el primer nivel con TV de pantalla grande, DVD, libros y juegos, un juego de baloncesto, una mesa de billar, bar y refrigerador.

    Desde el frente, esta casa presenta la fachada de una casa donde el frente es la mejor de las comodidades al aire libre con mecedoras blancas que miran hacia los árboles maduros, un patio bien mantenido y un amplio garaje doble. Pero ... ¡la parte de atrás de la casa es toda una bonanza extra!

He had an absolutely amazing time!!! We loved the location, pool, hot tub, and the house. The golf cart is a must!! We will be back!

Much needed vacay

This property was great. Clean and welcoming I just wish Oak Island itself was a step up. This house was the best thing about the trip it truly was the one thing we enjoyed and the only good thing.

Great vacation spot

Plenty of room, game room opens up to feel like you’re outside, hot tub by the pool, tiki bar. Cant ask for much more!

Perfect family getaway!

Our stay at the Barbee Beach House was amazing! The house was very spacious and fit our large family perfectly. We had a blast in the pool and hot tub! This was our first time visiting Oak Island and thanks to our wonderful stay at this beach house, we will definitely be back! Everything was as advertised and all the stores were just minutes away if you needed to make a quick store run. We had a great time! :)

Perfect home for large/extended familt

This home was perfect for our family. Plenty of room and lots to keep everyone busy. We all think it could use an update of the bedding. Not comfortable for sleeping. But everything else was wonderful!!

Nice

The property was as described. There was a musty odor when we first walked in, but spraying it with Lysol fixed that pretty quickly. There’s also small smell of urine in the carpeted areas. But that’s to be expected for a pet friendly property. I was not a fan of the carpeted bedroom upstairs But we just wore shoes the whole time. I would suggest renting the golf cart because it made things so much easier. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to renting again in the future.

The home is very spacious and has a lot to offer with several sleeping areas, game room, pool, tiki bar, and hot tub. However, the cleanliness was not what we expected. The carpets were stained, dirty, and had a very strong odor. The kitchen cabinets had a greasy film over them and there were dirty dishes in the cabinets. We contacted VRBO and the host ( Oak Island Accommodations) and requested to end our trip early due to the issues. We checked out two days early because of the odor and continuing to find unclean areas. We were refunded the cleaning fee but neither the host or VRBO would credit any amount for having to leave early due to the odor and just being dirty. We let them know from the moment we checked in and let them know in advance that we would be leaving early and requested the refund for the remaining nights only. We made multiple attempts to both VRBO & Oak Island Accommodations with no success. Definitely our first and last time with VRBO & OKI Accommodations. We have stayed in OKI for many years and this was our first negative experience.

Barbee Beach house

Booking and check in went well. Unfortunately when we opened the door we were met with an overwhelming smell of cat urine and the kitchen and main living areas were not cleaned. Cat urine smells remained despite cleaning crew coming out. The pool was low on water and needed cleaning. The hot tub would not heat up either. First three days of vacation we had to deal with cleaning crews and maintenance people showings up repeatedly. Parts of the yard and front deck were unusable due to being over grown and poorly maintained. The house has potential but was not clean and in general disrepair. It is extremely overpriced for the condition it was in. Dealing with all the issues put a damper and time constraints on our trip. The house has potential, the beach and community are great. Too bad it worked out the way it did.

A wonderful vacation home for a group!

We had four adults and four children, and there was plenty of rom for everyone. The kitchen is well equipped the bedding is comfortable. The best part for us was the pool and tiki bar! We also appreciated having beach chairs and toys at the house so we did not have to bring our own.

Overall decent

property had a few things that didn't work, Hot tub was broken, some of the exterior lights didn't work, the house was fairly clean although it could have used a good dusting. The air filters were clogged and I replaced them during my stay. Overall good experience and nice property

Lots of potential

Great house and location however the house needs some TLC and better house keeping. There was a lot of miscellaneous items thrown in the garage and closets and the kitchen cabinets were full of used items. The kitchen plates, utensils, pots and pans, various kitchen accessories, etc were very "used". It was almost as if someone lived there for 15 years or so and just left everything behind and opened the house for rent. The house should have been emptied and refreshed before putting on VRBO. From my understanding this is a new rental so hopefully these minor issues will be addressed quickly.
