Veteran’s House sits on a lakeside plot in Röykkä, overlooking Lake Sääksjärvi, known as one of the cleanest in Finland. Originally built as a retreat for Finnish war veterans, the property still carries traces of its past, including a commemorative plaque in the living room. The patio features a BBQ, jacuzzi, and outdoor furniture, with a wood-burning sauna cabin. Surrounded by forest paths and swimming spots, the house is ideal for a relaxing stay in nature with modern comforts.

The main building is a 1950s timber house with three bedrooms and space for up to 10 guests. Sleeping arrangements include 3 bedrooms upstairs with a double bed set up which can also be separated into singles, 1 double sofa bed in the living room and 1 double sofa bed in the sauna cabin.

Indoors, the open-plan living area includes a fireplace, TV and a large dining table with lake views. The kitchen is fitted with practical appliances, including a Siemens induction stove, dishwasher and a Bravilor Bonamat coffee machine.

The sauna, located in a separate lakeside building, has a wood-fired stove and a shower room. Guests can step from the sauna straight down to the water or relax on the terrace nearby. Other features include a washing machine and dryer, gas grill, hammock, and various books and toys for younger visitors.

The lakefront plot covers about one hectare and borders protected Natura 2000 land. The grounds are suitable for outdoor meals, swimming, and quiet walks. Röykkä Resort, the Sääksjärvi public beach and a small shopping centre with grocery and take away services are all within a few kilometres.
