Welcome to Marlborough Rest, a serene retreat nestled in the heart of Norwich, thoughtfully managed by Ginger & Gold Ltd. This pristine home offers a harmonious blend of modern comforts and timeless charm, ensuring a memorable stay in this historic city.

We are a family-run corporate letting and serviced accommodation business who pride ourselves on offering the guest everything they need for an enjoyable stay whether it be for business or for pleasure.

We are very experienced and professional, the level of interaction is decided by you.

As super hosts, we are available as you need us, we love answering questions and providing recommendations and we have a brilliant house manual for those who prefer to explore for themselves.

You’ll have an ideal base if you are coming to the area for work or for a holiday with your partner to see the area. With all necessary home amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen, Free Parking and Coffee machine – all situated in central Norwich.

If you are looking for a place to catch a romantic sunset visit Sewell Park which is a 10-minute walk or if you are in the mood for a walk with amazing views we suggest Mousehold Heath which takes around 20 minutes to walk, but every minute of that is worth the views.

If you are looking for a close-by pub we suggest The Whalebone Freehouse. It has 2 bars, original features and exposed bricks, plus a terrace with a walled garden that you have to visit. It only takes 7 minutes on foot to get there.

If you want to use a fully equipped kitchen at Marlborough Rest you will need some groceries and for that, we suggest the closest shop go to Co-op Food or PJ's Convenience Store, which is a 4-minute walk from home that also has an ATM.

You have free parking onsite at the back of the property for a small car and on-street Parking with a permit for longer vehicles that are provided in the living room at the property and all guests have access to the entire house, amenities and all property is only for you.

You have a self-check-in to make sure you can schedule your time according to your own plans. All important details will also be shared with you before your arrival to make sure you have a smooth check-in.

By the time you arrive, you’ll have a key code sent to you by email. This email will have a code from the key box and all necessary instructions on how to access the property. But just in case you have any questions we are always a call away.

While you may have the house to yourself, you won’t be alone when it comes to planning your trip. We are more than happy to help you with local activities and recommendations.

As you enter, you’ll be welcomed by a bright and airy living space, tastefully decorated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The lounge area is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring, with a plush sofa and soft throws inviting you to settle in. A large Smart TV is available for cosy movie nights, offering access to streaming services like Netflix and Prime. Whether you're catching up on your favourite series or enjoying a quiet evening with a book, this space is designed for ultimate comfort.

Moving through to the kitchen, you’ll find a modern, fully equipped space that makes cooking a breeze. Whether you’re whipping up a quick breakfast before heading out or preparing a leisurely home-cooked dinner, you'll have everything you need. With a high-quality oven, hob, microwave, toaster, and kettle, you can easily cook your favourite meals. A full set of cookware, utensils, and crockery ensures you can dine in style, while the dishwasher means there’s no need to worry about washing up. The dining area, bathed in natural light, provides the perfect setting for shared meals and conversation.

Each bedroom has been designed with tranquillity in mind, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Comfy bedding, plush pillows, and quality mattresses create a peaceful sanctuary where you can recharge. Ample storage space allows you to unpack and settle in, while blackout blinds ensure undisturbed rest, no matter what time you choose to wake up. Soft bedside lighting adds to the cosy atmosphere, making it the ideal spot to unwind with a book before bed.

The bathroom is fresh and modern, featuring a powerful shower, fresh towels and complimentary toiletries are provided, so you can start and end your day feeling refreshed and pampered.

Stepping outside, you’ll find a charming private outdoor space, perfect for enjoying a peaceful morning coffee or winding down with a glass of wine in the evening. It’s a quiet little retreat where you can take in some fresh air before heading out to explore the city.

Parking:

Our property offers two convenient parking options. There is an off-street parking space at the rear of the property, best suited for a small vehicle, and we recommend parking diagonally for easier access. We also provide an on-street parking permit for one vehicle, allowing you to park directly outside the property.

The house is located in the Western part of Norwich and is within driving distance to the majority of restaurants, fresh markets, supermarkets.

This cosy house is located in the central area of Norwich with a 10 minutes walk to get to the city centre and quick access to the main transport routes such as the A47 if you do decide to explore Norfolk Broads.

If you are visiting with your friend or family we suggest you visit Mousehold Heath for the best sunsets in Norwich. It takes around 10 minutes to drive, but every minute of that is worth the view.

If you have decided to travel to the city centre by bus go to the “Bell Road” bus stop and take Bus (11B) that goes to Norwich City Centre. And after 7 min (5 stops) get out at “Upper King Street” (Stop CP).

If you are taking a train it takes 25 minutes to walk to the train station with the great views of the riverside walk, or you can take the same bus route to the city centre and then walk straight through the Prince of Wales Road for 8 minutes to get tot he trains station.

However, Norfolk is a big area, with many things to see and do. To make the most of your trip, we always recommend guests hire their own transport to see all Norfolk has to offer.

And one of the cheapest rates for car hire that we found is “Norwich Car Hire” - we suggest you book your car as soon as possible to make sure you do not miss the opportunity.

Please have in mind that this property has quite steep stairs, please be aware of this if you do have children or have difficulties with stairs.

We do have several rules to make sure we keep our properties in the best condition for your arrival:

1. No smoking, please. (apart from the outside areas - use ashtrays provided)
2. No pets.
3. Maintain the property in good repair during your stay (as you find it upon entry).
Quiet hours between 9 pm -8 am on a weekday and 11 pm - 8 am on a weekend.

We take great care of our homes, and to keep them in top condition, we ask for a small protection amount for each stay. You can choose the option that works best for you:

- £200 Refundable Security Deposit – Fully refunded within 10 working days after check-out if no deductions apply.
- £18 Non-Refundable Damage Waiver – A simple one-time fee that covers accidental damage up to £200—no deposit hold, no refunds needed.

*Guest Verification: To ensure a safe and secure stay for all, we kindly ask for a valid form of ID from the lead guest before check-in.

Your check-in details will be sent once you've selected your preferred option.

Travel Cot is available on request.

Good Place to Stay

The house is pretty basic. But that's all we needed. Its very close to the center of Norwich so is perfect for that. There's a pub at the end of the street, and if you want a pint after a day of exploring that's a definite bonus. However... Friday Night the pub at the end of the street had a band on playing so loud you could hear it in the kitchen with all the doors closed. Facilities were good, with the exception of the lighting switches which were not very intuitively placed and rather confusing. Not that this is a deal breaker, or the owners fault (Full disclosure here I'm an electrician so I notice these things..) I will say (again no fault of the owner) that as a typical terraced house in Norwich the walls are very thin and the noise from the neighbors was pretty loud all the time... Noise cancelling headphones if you want a good nights sleep. Overall though very good. Many Thanks to our hosts

Perfect home from home!

Property was exactly like the photos and had everything we needed. Lovely comfy beds, decent tv and good location. Communication from agency was excellent and the check in process was really hassle free. Would definitely use again!
