IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO NIANTIC BEFORE - Niantic is a seaside village located in the town of East Lyme. It is an active family orientated community with locally owned bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, movie cinema, kid's museum, retail shops and yes...BEACHES...lots of them. There are two town beaches (Hole in the wall and McCook), one state beach (Rock Neck State Park) and numerous of private neighborhood beaches (Crescent, Black Point, Oak Grove, Davis, etc. Then there is arguable the nicest waterfront walkways in CT. The Niantic Bay Boardwalk is 1.1 miles (1.6 km) long with dozens of built in benches along the way. It is reserved for walkers and runners only.

NON WATERFRONT ACTIVITIES: 10 minutes away is a large Stop & Shop grocery store, COSTCO, large drug store and a movie theater. Casinos, Mystic Village, Seaport and Aquarium are 20 minutes away. Historic Old Lyme with its museums and Art Schools are the next town over. Just 15 minutes away is Old Saybrook with historic Fenwick and The Kate Theater. Going in the other direction, 15 minutes away is New London with its historic waterfront, the Garde Arts Theater and ferries to Long Island, Fishers Island and Block Island.
