an incredible experience in and around the hotel. very good staff and breakfast as such too. A very welcoming check in and out from the receptionists of the hotel. An amazing view from the window in our room.

Better Options Available

Given that I arrived late at night, the receptionist had already left (odd for any hotel). Instead I was greeted by an arrogant self proclaimed security guard. I understand this is a hostel probably most frequented by drunk, rowdy chavs on summer holiday. But it's off-putting to make the general assumption that every patron who books a room falls into that category. Stringent hotel policies were almost yelled at me, like a child away at a summer camp. I almost forgot I was here on vacation. The hotel infrastructure itself was no better - aging wooden walls and floors that creaked, dirty carpeting that had no life left in them, beds that were harder than the floor itself. In all, I could forgive ALL of this if I hadn't paid over $70 for the night.

The hotel was fine, just needed updating and a better facilties in rooms.

Very bad hotel

This was the worst hotel our family have been to, thanks to hotels.com that we experience so horrible hotel--narrow space, no chair, no table, no kettle, no mobile signal, no wifi, no parking space.

Not quite what I was expecting!!!!

I booked this hotel very last minute after a disastrous first day camping! I booked a family room but didn't quite expect to sleep in 2 lots of bunk beds! No coffee / tea facilities, very very basic!

Middle of Newquay

Had a double room with sea view which was good. Window was hard to open so the room was very warm. The staff offered a fan but then with some muscle, opened the window. Once closed again, the problem reappeared. And the window needed shutting as other guests would congregate just below the room to smoke and chat. As this is a bunkhouse / hotel / hostel there are lots of all male and all female parties. As a lone female traveller it was ok as I was there outside of the weekend rush. It does appeal to travellers of all ages and have rooms to suit a variety of needs. There was no lamp by the side of the bed, which was a minor inconvenience at bedtime. The idea to purchase extra packages such as toiletries, towels, car parking and breakfast is a bit hit and miss in my view. Opted to pay for parking Tuesday to Thursday, but was unaware this booking corresponded to check in and check out times, and I didn't check out til the Friday. So I had to move my car from my space at 3pm Thursday (and then saw that no one else parked in it...that was a bit galling!). The best bit was the breakfast. Served in the no.5 Brewhouse, next door, a great full English. Definitely recommend that! And this Brewhouse also delivers on coffee, cakes, craft beer and fantastic burgers.

Read Hotel's dos and donts list before booking

Great local, well run no frills hotel (no free soap, towels, etc) catering moreto singles than family. Friendly staff and clean rooms.

The most appalling experience

We didn't stay! The room was so awful we had to leave and find somewhere else To call it a hotel room is an over rating It was disgusting. Tiny, smelly and dirty. Smelled of chemical so badly my 5yr old was heaving and my mom started to cry thinking she would have to stay there. I was appalled that such 'hotels' are on hotels.com I was told it was a budget room. I wouldn't have paid $20/night
