Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding My Recent Stay – Lack of Heat and Poor Treatment Dear Nolita Management and Expedia Customer Support, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding my recent stay at your property. Despite having paid in full for my booking, I was subjected to unacceptable conditions that no guest should experience. Throughout my stay, there was no proper heat in the room. The temperature was extremely cold, yet I was only given a small black cover for my feet and had to sleep with just a bedsheet in the middle of the fall season. This was both unsafe and inhumane, considering that every guest has a legal right to adequate heat. Additionally, despite my confirmed booking and payment, I was not given a room and was instead kept in the living room area . The staff, particularly Steve, failed to notify me in advance about any changes or issues with my booking. This lack of communication caused unnecessary stress and discomfort. I want to emphasize that I returned to this property because I appreciated its quiet atmosphere. However, the rooms are extremely small, comparable to confinement spaces, and the treatment I received this time was deeply disappointing. With the amount of money guests pay, it is reasonable to expect proper heating, basic comfort, and respectful treatment. I urge the management to review this matter seriously, ensure proper heating for all guests, and provide clear communication to avoid such distr

The amenities are decent (kitchen, lounge, vanity room) and free but the sleeping pods consist of literal prison cots. They don’t even give you blankets unless you ask for them so all you’re given is a thin sheet.

Some things to know before you book: it is not handicap accessible and you will have to walk up 2-4 flights with your luggage. The bathrooms have no paper towel or hand dryer and they only give you a sheet to sleep with. Additionally, you can hear EVERYTHING on the floor and from the street. I didn’t get more than 4 hours sleep any night

I discovered the Nolita Express in the Spring of 2025. It’s an absolute treasure in the heart of Chinatown & the Bowery! Very comfortable! Great little Kitchen / Dining area. Great parlor room! I have stayed here 4 times this year and recommended it to a friend who stayed at the hotel and loved it as much as I do!!! Check it out! Kraige Block

The worst sleep I’ve had in years. The room is extremely tiny. Just a bed. Shared bathrooms on separate floors for each gender. No elevator. No roof in the rooms. You can hear every noise all day. If you speak in your room, hallway, or bathroom you’ll be fined $100 immediately. I would rather sleep in my car than come here again!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I stayed on the women only floor. The cabin did feel cozy, the common room area is spacious, comfortable and very pretty. Also, the location is awesome from a dining, attraction and transport viewpoint. I would definitely recommend for solo travellers. The only downside that I wasn’t prepared for is that there isn’t a duvet in the room. Aside from that, my stay was great.

I would rather stay at those 12 people per room dorm. This hostel is basically doing the same thing but put you with 30 more people in the same floor. The only benefit is that it has a door to lock your room.

Internet and location were good. Obviously it's more youth hostel than hotel. It's literally a bed in a room, not even a bedside table. The showers were clean but they have a problem with the heating system meaning that the water is scalding and takes a long time to get to a usable temperature.

For the price this was a great accommodation, however one of the three nights I stayed was a Saturday and the club downstairs played extremely loud music until exactly 4am. The other two nights were quiet. Enjoyed the stay and found everything to expectations.

This is a riduculously overpriced hostel for what you get. There is no working elevator. There are no blankets on the beds. Hostel rooms don't have ceilings, just a lattice covering over the top of the room, so you can hear everything that happens at all times. Your room can also never be completely dark to sleep, because of the absence of a ceiling. When I checked in, there was no receptionist present to answer questions and another guest's luggage was missing from where it had been stowed under the stairs. My room had a dirty floor, scuff marks on the wall, and a stained pillowcase on the bed. There was no women's restroom on my floor, so I had to walk up and down multiple flights just to take a shower. That shower was dirty. A member of the cleaning staff once blocked me from washing my hands after using the bathroom so she could finish sending a text. The only thing that even sort of redeems this hostel is that the manager agreed quickly to refund me for my stay.

The staff was responsive and polite. The cleaning crew did a very good job of keeping the hostile and all of the common spaces quite clean. I felt very safe. All of the guests were polite. My only disappointment was bed was quite uncomfortable.
