This hotel was “fine”, but I think my biggest issue is there is no way this is a 4-star property. I don’t know how stars are assigned, but it felt like a 3-star hotel (like the Wyndham Ramada down the street). I actually forgot it was supposed to be a 4star property, because it just felt like your run of the mill, average, lower-mid priced motels.
Staff was helpful, didn’t use the gym like I planned, but nice it was there. Breakfast was “meh”; 3 or 4 things on the menu and it was nothing to write home about. Maybe the soufflés they advertise are a weekend thing, but was not an option when I was there. I also tried to go out to the outdoor lounge/deck just off the restaurant one evening around 5pm and was told it was closed due to weather (it was supposed to rain later that night, but was not raining then), when I questioned that she said “it’s too late”. It was still light out, but I could tell I wasn’t going to get anywhere so left it at that, but that amenity is open subject to whenever they want it seems.
Location kinda depends what you’re looking for. I did walk to Citi Field one evening (took the train 1 stop on the way back).
Overall it was fine, but if I find myself in this neighborhood again, I won’t be rushing to stay here.
