Adorable Cottage, 1 bedroom plus convertible sofa/bed, and single roll-away twin. Sleeps 5. One of the best values in the New Buffalo area. Lake Michigan Public Beach, a short 3 miles away. Very cute and cozy one bedroom cottage. Enjoy a romantic getaway, a girlfriends weekend or bring the kids.
Beautiful hand laid stone pathways wind around the entire house. Charming flower gardens and accent pond leads to the stone patio, wisteria covered pergola/deck and screened porch. Brick patio and Fire pit and charcoal BBQ in the backyard, you provide charcoal. firewood is provided.
In the living room, enjoy the glow of a crackling fire in the authentic field stone fireplace. Turn the lights down low, soft music, and enjoy the romance. The wall is accented with a beautifully lit hand made stained glass window. Hand cut oak beams grace the cathedral ceiling. Couch converts to a double bed. Pocket door offers privacy.
Real knotty pine paneling in the den, which accommodates the flat screen TV / DVD with multi-room stereo. Roku TV . Internet and desk for work area. Beautiful rustic oak cabinets enhance the immaculate updated kitchen which includes all dishes, pots and pans, coffee pot, coffee grinder, toaster, blender and all cooking utensils. Kitchen dining seating for 4.
Warm and inviting bedroom with heirloom brass double bed, includes all linens.
Updated full bathroom with all towels and hair dryer provided.
For your convenience a washer and dryer is provided. Single Roll-away bed also provided.
You will love the wisteria covered deck for outside dinning, table and chairs for 4, along with wrought chair and glider for relaxing. It's as if you were inside a tree house! Magnificent wisteria blooms in early spring! In the evening the screen room is the place to be. To hear the sounds of the frogs and crickets along with soft music from the multi room stereo is so relaxing. If you listen very carefully, you may even hear the call of a neighbors peacock in the distance. Roasting marshmallows on the fire is a sure hit for kids and adults alike!
Two adult bikes provided for your use.
Enjoy New Buffalo Public Lake Michigan Beach which is a short 3 miles away. New Buffalo Public Beach, Michigan City Public Beach, Mount Baldy, Silver Beach & Warren Dunes State Park are all open to the public with inexpensive parking fees.
We are conveniently located 3 miles from downtown New Buffalo. 2 1/2 miles from Whittaker Woods golf course. 7 miles from Blue Chip Casino, Four Winds Casino Is about 5 miles. Calumet trail is about 8 miles. Light house Mall outlet shopping, International Friendship Gardens, Winery tours, antique stores, farmer markets, U pick farms, romantic picnics. So much to do in the area.
We are located 60 miles from Chicago. South Bend In
Notre Dame Stadium is 35 miles. Amtrak stops in New Buffalo 3 miles from the house. The South Shore train stops in Michigan City, about 8 miles from the house. A easy day trip
Owners have two other homes recently listed on VRBO. VRBO 869715 "English Stone Manor" listed since Memorial Day 2016, is a beautiful 4 bedroom, 3 bath home with private court yard. Which has earned many Five star ratings. VRBO 887390 "Sleeping Willow" listed July 2, 2016 has earned 13 out of 20 five star ratings, Is a cute 3 bedroom, 1 bath classic cottage style home. All are within walking distance of each other. These homes can be rented together for large family gatherings.
Another home "Dogwood Delight" VRBO 1070807 has been listed for a short time and has a 4 out of 4 , five star rating. This home is a beautiful 4 bedroom custom built masonry home with 7 person hot tub. This home is 5 blocks from Lake Michigan and has private beach rights, and golf cart included. All of our homes are well kept and are NOT party houses! They are intended for family and friends. Well behaved children are always welcome.
New Buffalo has a slower relaxed pace in late fall and winter We rent throughout the year. Fall and winter can be a very beautiful and relaxing time to take a break. The fall colors can be amazing. Many restaurants offer discounts. Winters can be a absolute gorgeous, serene winter wonderland. This is really the best time to kick back, relax and take some much needed time for yourself!

Beautiful Wisteria Cottage

My mom and I enjoyed the beautiful landscaping . We spent a lot of time under the beautiful wisteria, enjoying the beautiful scent. Jen is a wonderful host, showing us around the property and leaving lots of snacks for us to enjoy. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! We would love to come back next year!

Cute little house

We enjoyed our stay, but will probably not stay there again. We thought it was 5 blocks to the lake & not even close. Also, we didn't feel comfortable using the 2 bicycles on the the 4 lane busy highway the house was on. Nice but probably wouldn't go back.

A quaint cozy cottage

We enjoyed our stay. We loved the enclosed porch and the beautiful surrounding garden. The sleeping quarters was tight but were able to navigate through it. We would recommend it for any couple looking for a quick get away. It is a little tight for families, especially with the sleeping arrangements and one bathroom. Other than that... Absolutely amazing.

Kid Free!!

Dropped the kids at camp and headed to New Buffalo for a nice couple of days at the Wisteria Cottage. Jan was a wonderful host! She communicated very well with us before arrival, The house was wonderful, the yard absolutely gorgeous, and we had a wonderful stay.met us at the house, and showed us around.

Beautiful cottage

We had a wonderful time staying here. The cottage was very clean and cozy. The beautiful landscaping added an extra pleasure to our stay. The hosts were amazing! We will definitely be staying here again!! Highly recommend the hosts and the cottage!

Lovely little house!

My husband and I were in the area for a weekend getaway. The house is immaculately kept. Very cozy little home. The garden and back porch are lovely-a great place to drink morning coffee or read. Located minutes from everything. Excellent communication from the host. I'd give more than 5 stars if i could! Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful cozy cottage

This is a very cute little cottage! Nice and cozy and has everything you need! It is right off of the highway so really convenient to get to. There is a train that goes by out front but, the house is surrounded with beautiful landscaping and plants and it’s like you’re in your own little world inside the home and out in the back of the house. The back has a small little pond with a water fountain, a nice deck and screened in porch that overlooks the pretty garden/patio area with a fire pit, grill, table with umbrella, & 2 bikes! So cute and cozy. We stayed for our anniversary. It’s a great place for a couple to be comfortable and relaxed!

Priceless. Little House

Spent a weekend here. Owners very friendly and helpful. House was cute and clean. We had everything we needed. Quaint area with friendly people. Good restaurants nearby. Great American Legion Poat down the street. Would definitely rent again.

Terrific Cottage

Great getaway cottage with awesome landscaping, a big fire ring and a real fireplace. The hosts take really good care of the property and they are very nice people. We always enjoy staying here.

California to Michigan Family reunion

such a wonderful place to stay. The owners hospitality was lovely and contributed to our family’s happiness throughout the stay. We are still talking about your place afterwards and how the butterflies were unbelievable in the incredible yard! And the spaciousness of this little cottage felt enormous to us with the rooms and the outdoor spaces we felt like we were in a really special and well loved and cared for place. Very beautiful outdoor space. Very cozy and lovely indoor space. Need more storage for personal items such as a dresser available for guests. Very very friendly and wonderful host available as needed yet also ensuring a privacy and the feeling of it being just for you.

Backyard was gorgeous!! We spent most of our time there enjoying all the beautiful flowers and water features. Jan and her husband were wonderful to meet and gave us some really yummy dinner places to try. We would stay here again!!

Just for me…

Purple clematis, wisteria, English ivy, a weeping willow, screened in porch, small fountain and paved walks. Everything I love. We had to leave early due to illness. We will consider insurance next time. Our first time booking through Verbo. Signing up was confusing and a little frustrating going through the website to email hosts. I understand the need for privacy but the process was time consuming.

Perfectly Quaint Garden Retreat

This cozy little cottage-style house made us feel right at home. Everything was very good quality and clean, the house was super friendly, and the gardens were beautiful. We loved sitting out on the porch enjoying the atmosphere. The inside was cozy and comfortable.

Wisteria Cottage

Delightful small first home of the owners, decorated simply with art and artifacts collected over the years by the wife. Beautiful garden and yard, with hand made stone work by the husband who is a stone mason and very creative! Very near the Dunes and great restaurants. Even with lousy weather, we had a great time.

Michigan getaway

This is the perfect little cottage for a couple or 2 couples looking to relax in a safe area near Michigan city. Jan is wonderful to work with and the cottage is very relaxing and welcoming just being there!
