    The Space:

    Newly built 2000 sq. ft. home between the 2nd and 3rd Crossing of the Guadalupe River that sleeps 16 with two master bedrooms, two guest rooms, and three bathrooms. Before stepping foot in the house, you'll know that this is the place to be with a fire pit in the yard (fire wood not provided) and walkway leading directly into the river. The home sits proudly atop piers with outdoor staircase leading to the porch overlooking the water. The ground under the home is open air with spots for parking. The upstairs porch boasts 180 degree view of the river, and full length sliding glass doors open up into the grand room of the house. This property is located next to Sons Guadalupe cabana & Glamping tent rentals.



    The grand room has vaulted 18 ft. ceilings with windows all around. This open concept living area has all the comforts of home! The kitchen has all new appliances and comes fully equipped with cookware, dishes, and utensils. The dining table is perfect for you and your guests sharing a meal together after a day spent on the water! There's lots of space to recharge at the end of the day. The first master bedroom is right off the living room with king size bed, private porch access, river view, and en suite bathroom. The first master bath has a double sink, walk in shower, and large closet. Past the grand room lies the rest of the rooms. The first guest room has a full over full bunk bed with a trundle as well as a twin over twin bunk. The second guest room has 2 queen beds. Both guest rooms have river views as well. The guest bathroom with a tub/shower combo is conveniently located by both guest rooms and near the living area. The second master bedroom has a king bed and twin bunk beds. This master room also has a private bathroom with a tub/shower combo. There is a sofa sleeper in the living room as well. All bathrooms come stocked with hotel size amenities, towels, and two rolls of toilet paper. High quality linens are provided for all beds and bathrooms. YouTube TV provided.



    This home is located a door down from Sons Guadalupe, which is the perfect place to rent tubes and float away! There is entertainment for all up and down river road. Just a short drive to Gruene and downtown New Braunfels, which both offer fine dining establishments, entertainment, and numerous activities. Gruene Hall is the oldest dance hall in Texas and a famous landmark. Gruene also offers great shopping, restaurants and wine tasting. Close to the outlet malls, Schlitterbahn and Canyon Lake. Host must be 25 years of age or older to make a reservation and must be staying at the property. No pets allowed. This home has a maximum occupancy of 16 guests. This maximum occupancy is not to be exceeded at any time. No daytime guests allowed. You can park 4-5 vehicles at this property. To comply with city and county short-term rental permit restrictions, the outdoor areas of this home are monitored by video camera. Family Get Away

We took our sons, daughter in laws and grandchildren. Great place for family, LOTS of own space. River in front of house, was great for lounging and the kids playing. Plenty of room in the kitchen and living room.

Awesome place...

Awesome place, I mean really nice. Very modern and I'm going back. Needs drinking glasses the ones they have are very short. But it's was the nicest place I've seen down there. I'll def be back. Get this place you won't be disappointed

Great Place on the Guadalupe River

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I stayed at Southern Comfort with my daughter, her husband and their kids, as well as my son, who was visiting from Los Angeles. There was plenty of space for us all. The location was great and it had easy access to the river. HEB, Gruene and New Braunfels were short, scenic drives away. I read reviews of people complaining about the lack of ceiling fans because of bunk beds. The master suite has a ceiling fan and all of the rooms have a box fan in the closet. That can save you some much needed space in the car. The kitchen is well stocked and there were plenty of towels for everyone. I had one problem, and I am partly to blame. I was carrying my granddaughter on the lower deck and I did not see that there was a step down as it looked like one level to me, and I fell with her. I would recommend a colored stripe or a sign to watch your step as the boards seem to blend together from one level to the next. There is one at the front door step, but it is getting worn. Other than that one incident, it was an awesome stay!

The house was clean and well-maintained with a couple of exceptions. The toilet paper hanger kept falling off the wall and the refrigerator smelled really bad. It was really fishy, like someone had gone fishing and put their catch in the fridge. Luckily it did not affect the taste of our food but we had to hold our noses anytime we needed to get into the fridge. The rental company was a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend this property. The location was great. Rather than float the river, we were able to just walk down and flop right in the water in our chairs.

we loved the property. We have been visiting the river for over 20 years ad this was one pf our favorite locations. The house was very well stocked oil the kitchen and was exceptionally clean. It had a great living room and deck for our group and it was right on the water. We would stay here again.

Beautiful House

The house was beautiful and in a perfect location. The only gripe is that the river was slow and low but that’s out of the property’s control. Everything we needed was at the house and we enjoyed our stay.

The area in front of the house is nice for relaxing in the water and is only 4 to 5 feet deep at the most. The house was very large and the deck was nice in the mornings. We had 11 during our stay.

Great House

The layout inside was spacious, and the house was beautifully decorated. We loved the big island in the kitchen. We hung out around that a lot. Plenty of games left by the owners for our kids. We had a problem with one shower that everybody was slipping in. I emailed the property’s maintenance, and it was taken care of quickly. The bunk room and two of the bedrooms needed ceiling fans in them. They were hotter than the rest of the house. We went and bought a box fan. The master bedroom stayed cold. The only downfall is the photos didn’t show that there is an adjourning property named Son’s Guadeloupe. It has tiki huts and glamping tents. On Saturday when we got there, of course, it was busy next door. By Sunday it cleared out. We got to watch them clean the porta potties each morning, thrill. The next-door property’s guests used our exit to get out of the water and walk across our grass. We didn’t care, though. The ants were a problem walking down to our river entrance, and the grass was high when we got there. They mowed by Monday. I have always been told to figure out the solution to your problem before you complain. Solution: mow before guests arrive, put ceiling fans up, maybe more cement down by the staircase before you enter the water since the ants were bad down there or treat for ants, Son’s next door...maybe just advertise that it is next door so it’s not a shocker.

Take me back!

Absolutely loved this property and our long weekend getaway. Everything was beautiful, clean and ready to go. Quick communication when needed. Plenty of space for everyone. Enjoyed both the upper and lower decks and of course, the backyard access into the river. A couple of guests mentioned the secondary rooms being warm because there are no fans (so just bring your own or steal the master with the fan). The only partial down side I would say is being next to Son's Guadalupe. On the busy Saturday, we had a lot of people using our steps to get in and out of the river. A couple of their guests also asked to pitch tents in our yard... (um, no! haha) HEB was only 4 miles away and the Lonestar Float House was literally 3-4 houses down - easy walk to rent tubes and get shuttled to float! We floated right back down to our house :) Overall, we all had a blast and would love to go back ASAP. Thanks NBE!!

Perfect area

Our group really enjoyed our stay. The view of the river was incredible, and the house was plenty big and spacious for our group of 12 buddies. Would definitely recommend!

Southern Comfort was everything we were expecting and more. Very thankful for our time there and the great customer service from NB Escapes. Our group of 11 had a great time and there was plenty of space and well kept. This section of the river is perfect to hang out and relax and is also very close to river restaurants and places to float from.
