"Hidden Haven" Suite @Rustic Retreat Cabin - firepit & sauna

The Rustic Retreat at Story's Edge is a beautiful cabin in Brown County Indiana. This cabin features four completely individual suites. This rental includes one of those four suites.
Sitting on almost 6 acres of woods and surrounded by State Parks, you will love this relaxing, quiet get away. Large outdoor deck with seating. Shared access to a fire-pit, grilling area, and an old fashioned sauna with wood stove. The suite features an open concept with living room area, bedroom area, dining area and bathroom. A mini refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig are provided. There is a king bed, a sofa with pull out bed and living room with smart tv. All linens are provided, as well as other essentials.

This property is a very short walk to the Story Inn and close to several Brown County State Park and Hoosier National Forest Trails. Whether you want to stay in and relax, or be active at one of Brown County's many attractions, there will be ample of options.

Great location when you find it

Cabin was great, very convenient to Story. Address from Vrbo took us 20 miles past the location, property manager got us corrected.

Our Stay at Story

We loved the cozy, clean cabin. We met the neighbors and had a great time on the front porch. We walked the path to the Story Still Tavern & Grill and had a great dinner, then we stayed for karaoke and had a blast. It was a good time, and we relaxed the next day and enjoyed being out in the woods.

This is a 4 unit cabin, NOT a whole cabin rental

The listing was a little confusing, we thought we were getting the entire cabin. The unit we stayed in was nice. Walls were a bit thin, could hear the ladies staying in the unit next to us. we were on the lower level.

Hidden Haven

The suite was very clean and cozy. Beautiful location, very relaxing. There wasn't a kitchen sink so if you are cooking anything be prepared to wash your dishes in the bathtub. You can hear the people on the second floor very clearly. Also, each day, hot water ran out quickly while showering and I took.a quick shower.

We found by reading reviews after booking it was only a room in the house and if your on a lower level the upstairs is very loud. I told the property manager our dog would never be quite with people above like that. She agreed it would be loud but no offer to change h

Never Had A Situation Like This

Contacted "Priority One", the propriety manager, several days prior to check-in, requesting lodging info as I had saw other reviews indicated some confusion as to room assignments. No reply was forthcoming. On arriving the door code provided did not work for ANY of the 4 units. By phone Cara was contacted, she provided a door code that worked for the Tree Haven lodging. After coming home I've now gotten requests for an additional $75 for staying in the Wrong Room! My hiking partner drove in from west of Nashville TN, I drove in from north of Detroit and we stayed where directed by phone and where the door opened! My calls to Matt & Cara Huffman (Priority One) have not been answered. Been doing VRBO for quite some time, regrettably I'm unable to provide a positive review.

Quiet room in cabin by Inn

This was a nice room with a big bathroom. Had trouble determining which room was ours as the name was not provided with the check in instructions (it's the far room, lower level). There is an air fryer for heating food and a keurig with coffee pods. The smart TV allows you to watch TV or sign into your streaming accounts. Parking was easy. It was quieter than expected, especially since there is a door between the rooms, and it's under another room, but we rarely heard anything from our neighbors.

I liked the fact that we were so close to Story Inn was nice to have a few drinks and walk back to room. The unit we stayed in was on the bottom floor and you could hear EVERYTHING going on upstairs unit. Also, I was surprised at the fact that there was no sink(other than the bathroom), and no microwave. We did have a small dog with us but the pet hair from other dogs in the past was all over the floor too. We had on black socks and sweatpants they were covered with the hair.

Weekend retreat

It was as described but I think letting people know there are four places all in this one place would be good. The signage is nice looking but confusing. Super cute place and I would recommend. However, the live music Saturday was awful and loud. We could hear it very clearly from the story inn. Overall, I would stay here again. The bad live music isn’t their fault. Clean and well furnished.

Perfect Getaway

A beautiful peaceful place to spend celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary! Ery clean and the porch was relaxing! Matt and Cara were great! We will be coming back!
