"On hotels page it says food and drink, they have nothing! The address is totally wrong and way different! Whennohoned their number it was someone else’s number but she sent me the actual address and said she has had many phone calls! I ended up leaving shortly after getting there as no food and totally not what says they have on the hotels.com page!! Wasn’t even offered a refund for my second night so didn’t even stay there but paid for 2 nights"

"Hotel El Guarco rooms were very clean & comfortable. Staff were very helpful & kind. The linens & towels were so white & had a lovely clean fragrance. The incuded breakfasts wre truly amazing & presentation was impeccable! We could walk to numerous other retaurants or fast food establishments for dinner meals. We were there for 6 days, & would have enjoyed a pool & lounges to enhance our stay. But we made lounges out of the benches on the balcony, by adding pillows to recline on. Also, since...

"Rooms are clean, neat and pretty. There are three bedrooms and enough room for our family (2 adults and 3 kids). The road leading from the main street to the house is narrow, steep, and winding, making driving a bit challenging. A smaller vehicle with four-wheel drive and decent driving skills will be necessary. The location is nice. Just 20-30 minutes to Cartago. We had a good time there!"

"No AC, loud noises from street (lots of motorcycles), loud music from lobby (karaoke machine?), bed with no blanket (only top sheet), and bathroom out of TP and paper towels. However, hotel staff were super friendly and helpful and responded quickly to any inquiries. Decent storage in room closet. Area is secure (garage door and front door locked at night). Had a private room for 4 and it did the trick for a 1 night stay before early flight but otherwise would be rough. "

"I am very very disappointed in this hostel. There were no actual door locks. The property is old and not in good repair and worst of all is that my mattress smelled very strongly of cat urine. Really! They tried to cover it up by hanging a toilet bowl sanitizer on the wall of the room. I removed it because the fumes were overwhelming. Also... they rent rooms by the hour! Yikes. It was the worst experience for me in a hotel/hostel, and I am a world wide traveller and often opt for...

"This property consists of 3 relatively new cabins located inside a secure gate beside to the main road that circles the beautiful Orosí valley. The cabins are surrounded by greenery including a giant stand of bamboo and orange trees from the family’s orchard, which smell delightful! The road is quite busy during the day but very quiet at night and we had no difficulty sleeping. The cabins themselves block most of the outside sound. "Nice hotel, it was worth more than I paid. Stores and restaurants are around this hotel, and you can go to San Pedro Mall on foot, and city central by taxi for 10 mins. It’s quiet usually around it. Mr. Mark, owner of the hotel, turn off the light at 10pm everyday, so you can sleep comfortably. You can get many services there, i.e. nice pancakes for breakfast (surprisingly free), laundry services, and others. And don’t forget this: everyday he sends us off at hotel with warm “PURA VIDA”."
